Well Bash had nothing to do with what happened to Catherine and his brothers. That was Catherine's fault for not giving Henry the annulment. That's what pushed him to try and behead her. If not for that his family would have been safe. As Henry said they would be next in line after Bash. He would have still protected his children.

I suppose that's true. But even if his brothers were safe, their true inheritance still would have been taken away. If Mary and Bash had gotten married and had children...who knows what would have happened to them all. The point is that the legitimization plot did put them all in danger, and threatened the security of France. Plus, the throne itself was important to Francis, too - as much as he complained about the responsibilities of his position. He just didn't realize how much he wanted it until it was taken away. Perhaps the same realization will come to Charles.

I didn't mean to say those things weren't important to him at all, just that they aren't the reason he got so upset. If Francis had truly believed they were doing it to save him and not that bash wasn't just trying to take Mary from him, he would have never been so harsh on him.

Oh, ok. I agree with that. I think he believed that Mary was doing it all to save him, but for Bash... he thought he had other motives. It made him doubt Bash's love for him - their entire relationship. I truly hope the same thing doesn't happen to Charles and lil Henry. At least Francis and Bash were able to overcome all of that drama.
