Sheer luck, I guess. There was a clip from the dvd extras where Brad Silberling talked about Toby not being the typical CW lead, but that he might be the future of the CW leads.

I am so glad they gave him the part

it's refreshing to see someone who doesn't fit their cookie cutter mold get a leading part. If they would branch out more often they would probably be able to find more amazing talent like Toby.

If we think the show is depressing now, just think about his hair in the hallway during 1x14 and I think we can all agree that some things are more painful to watch than others.

I'll jump on the Toby adoration train I am really happy that he got the role. This boy is going places and I am so happy that this show helped me (and many others) discover the sheer brilliance that is Toby Regbo.

His hair is gorgeous now. it makes me so happy, words can't describe

^ I'll just second everything you just said, Heather. I'm beyond grateful that Reign has introduced me to the talent and brilliance that is Toby Regbo, and I can't wait to follow his career after the show. And his hair now.
