Mary got raped. Narcisse's actions were cringeworthy. When the Lola/Narcisse scene happened, I was like "get away from her, you mother ****er" LOL Don't get me wrong the chemistry is still AMAZING but it was hard to watch it after what went through during the episode. I'm conflicted.

they definitely went down the rape road. The scene is without sound but you can see everything while it happens. It is the protestant priest father who rapes her.

How sad that the writers went in that direction with Narcisse. But going into it I know that he's an a*hole to begin with so I'm not all that surprised. The only good thing is that the proposal to Claude didn't last. It seems like he's doing it to piss off Francis? Which means he doesn't even think of Claude in a romantic way? I didn't watch it yet, but it's being spoiled all over. Like I said before, I don't want Lola getting together with this version of Narcisse, he still has a lot of evolving to do. I think this is the start of his redemption, which hopefully will get better after they set up the big meltdown of everything

Claude used Narcisse to avoid marrying the Bavarian guy the episode before the break and that's exactly what she did during this one. She used him to avoid marrying Conde. Narcisse used her to piss Francis again. Claude refused to marry Narcisse and accepted to marry Conde. But the all thing was pointless and gross. It really felt inappropiate. They didn't to go there. That's why I didn't enjoy the Narcisse/Lola scene as much as I should have. His last scene at the end of the episode is him asking to speak to Lola (in her chamber), he basically tells her that he warned about what would happen blah blah blah (I can't remember exactly) and at the end it tells her that he still think about her and they're back to making googly eyes at each other. XD My guess is that the all Narcisse/Claude thing is pretty much over now. They used it as a device plot.

this is definitely the start of Narcisse's redemption arc. In this episode, he is actually feeling remorseful about forcing the edict on Francis. He also realize that his actions lead to the attack

If this is the start of Narcisse's redemption, then fine. After reading about him and Claude yesterday, I was thinking he's ready for any sort of relationship with Lola even though he was suggesting one a few episodes ago. He does have a lot of growing up to do even if he is a grown man already.

it was genuine. In that moment you knew that it wasn't just a game between them. Thinking about it now that I've calmed down, I think it was they needed to go forward. Of course, Narcisse has to flee the country now, Montgomry being dead, he has no leverage on Francis anymore.
