 I am so heartbroken that James had to leave  , but at least we got Greer and James' first kiss before he was sent away.   I just adore that he was trying to walk away from her, but then he stopped, paused, and made the decision to turn around and kiss her - despite the fact that everything was so complicated. And the way she looks at him as he goes.       X __________________

They always seem to take characters away just when things seem to be going really well for them and they are on the verge of finding happiness.
 James had finally found trust and peace with Mary, and there was the hope of a future with Greer... UGH. It's just really sad. I liked the scene where Greer is opening up to Mary about her embarrassment and confusion about James - how she had opened up to him about her feelings, but "he now treats me with the same affection he shows the furniture." I mean... how amazing would it be if Greer could marry James and Mary and Greer could actually be sisters-in-law? __________________

I think they gave them small moments here and there, so people predicted that it was probably going to happen. It wasn't a surprise. They just didn't have time to give them a lot of development or proper build up before getting them together. Too many other storylines, characters and relationships to touch on.
