You know, everyone keeps blaming Mary for this mess, and yes she is at fault obviously, but it's just as much Narcisse's fault. If he had not talked Catherine out of allowing Mary to take Renaude's army, the French troops would still be there and Conde could not have tricked Renaude into working for him. Not to mention he started all the problems with the protestants to begin with. That's why I'm so angry Catherine is with him. He's the real trouble maker here.

Mary is partly to blame for being a fool. Then again, I've been saying since Season 1 that Mary is a fool. Did she not think that sleeping with Conde would have consequences? How many disastrous schemes has she come up with over the last 2 years? For example, remember the 12 men that she was sending to Scotland with information to be given to her mother's opponent? This would probably have started a civil war that would have caused the deaths of thousands of people, including French soldiers, as France would have had to send troops to help Marie retain her crown. Catherine had to get involved to stop them, a bit drastically, but she did stop them from leaving France.

How about the time that Mary hired someone to kidnap Catherine? She wanted Catherine's Medici money, it was not French money and Mary had no right to it. Besides, she didn't even know this guy and he could have very well have killed Catherine.

As for Narcisse, he was a villain from the moment he appeared on Reign. I can't believe what Catherine told him during the last episode. She's in love with him????? Season 1 Catherine would have been too smart and savvy to fall in love with a known scoundrel like Narcisse. Maybe she would have taken him as a lover, as he's supposed to be great in bed, but NEVER would she have fallen in love with the man. She already had her heart broken by another cad, Henry was a terrible husband. Why would she want another one like him?

no ok i can understand when people don't want Narcisse by Catherine's side. he is meant to be the obvious antagonist.
