I know a lot of my favorite fan fic writers always use betas and thank them for their help. People are so nice! If I ever tried to write anything, I would be so embarrassed to share it with people....but it's definitely a good idea to have someone read it over before you post it publicly.

I don't really need a beta. I could edit myself if I wanted. I mean, I'm just too impatient to edit it or to wait for someone else to edit.

Right. I certainly understand impatience. It's amazing the mistakes that others will catch when reading over your work, though. Things you would never see or think of if you just edited it yourself. It helps a lot. (Even if I'm too embarrassed or prideful to take advantage of it. )

Speaking of fan fic... Have you begun the new Basherine fic that you were thinking about, Amanda?
