Mary went to Bash for help in that episode right? It was really brief and we didn't see them talk. We just got a long-shot of them. Or maybe I'm mixing that up with another episode.

I can't remember Mary going to Bash in 1x18 "No Exit". You might be thinking of 1x17, Nikki. Mary goes to Bash for help right after one of Catherine's "flying squad" tells her about the clause in her marriage contract that would give Scotland to France if she died without an heir. When she has to approach Bash, she says, "Well, this will be awkward."

Ah, yes. I almost felt sorry for Kenna in that moment. But she was right about one thing - Bash will always be Mary's true and gentle knight.

We rewatched 1x20 last week and how sad is the scene where Bash goes and sees Frary making out and then goes to Kenna. Like I was really confused was it because he really loves Kenna or because he wants to forget Mary only

It was very sad. I think the answer to your question is... both? I do think that he went to consummate his marriage with Kenna because he wanted to try to forget Mary and move forward...at first. But I think it's clear that he was attracted to Kenna and surprised by how connected he felt to her. Eventually, he did fall in the love with her, too. Maybe his love for Kenna was different than his love for Mary, but it was still there. I don't think his feelings for either woman every really went away. As Mary said, there is always an ember remaining.

I think it was to drive home the point that he'd have to be stuck living in the castle, watching her love someone else the rest of his life. I really didn't like that the writers tortured Bash like that. I wish they had let him leave the castle so he could have his own life instead of being forced to marry someone he didn't even like. They could've had Bash move on organically but they chose not to. That's pretty much why I quit watching the show. I didn't like how his character was tormented--first with the consummation then with the forced marriage. The freest character on the show was left without any real choices. No offense to anyone who likes BK, I just didn't like how their relationship came about.

Anyway, that art is pretty though! And there's a new round up Keri--this round is going slow so I'd appreciate your vote.

I agree that it was a horrible thing for the writers to do to both Bash and Kenna. But, I really loved Kennash. And part of what made them special was the awful way their relationship came about. I love the idea that something good and beautiful can come out of something so horrible. That something with such a sad beginning can have a happy ending. Bash and Kenna's relationship actually made me like both of the characters so much more. When they declared their love for each other, I was so happy for both of them. But... then the writers ruined that, too.
