its not so bad if they write something like Killian goes with Henry, Emma is willing to go as well, but against her wish, she is send back to Storybrooke. he doesnt want their child to be alone. if something bad happen to them both.
its gonna be angsty for Killian in this cursed life, once the curse is broken, coming back home to Emma, he's gonna think she is mad at him.

maybe thats the "missing something" he's feeling in the cursed life.
he missed his wife and child, and the consequences of his actions that ended him cursed and away from them

Once Upon a Time Mega Buzz: Hook Is Searching for Something – or Someone?

When Once Upon a Time returns for its seventh season, we’ll see a new side to the characters we’ve come to know and love. Under a new curse, Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), Rumple (Robert Carlyle) and Regina (Lana Parrilla) will assume new identities with no memory of who they were before.

“[Hook] knows deep down inside something’s missing. Something is not quite right,” O'Donoghue told TV Guide at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “He’s searching for something and doesn’t realize that he is.”

Is that “something” he’s searching for his true identity or his forgotten memories? Or it is Emma (Jennifer Morrison), whose absence will have to be addressed eventually? Showrunner Eddy Kitsisdismissed that theory.

“It’s a missing case,” Kitsis told TV Guide about Hook’s Season 7 search. “And it is not Emma. It’s a brand-new story.”

It makes sense that Hook will be handling a missing case, given that he’ll be a uniformed police officer in the little hamlet of Hyperion Heights under this new curse. But who, or what, could he be looking for?

Once Upon a Time premieres Friday, Oct. 6 at 8/7c on ABC.

Whats the point if there is no connection to Emma in that feeling of loss and being incomplete etc, even if he is cursed, the whole point of this is to also feel Emma as well

I'm not gonna hate watch or complain about them writing her out .. she chose to leave ... but I'm not sure if the new stories are gonna draw me in

yes.
this isn't Emma story we get it, she isn't part of this, but we at least would like to feel her presence somehow. after all her true loves are still around, specially Henry, if this "new" hook isn't Emma's Killian but one of those many Hook from other realms.

Doubtful. The one in the EF2 is still dressed like the Killian we all know and love.
