The second episode of the show, the first appearance of Red John, and the only episode were we've seen Lisbon shoot and kill people (I think it's really interesting those last two happened in the same episode, even if McAllister wasn't meant to be RJ yet). The main five were a new team, Grace was a rookie, the beginning of the Grace/Wayne relationship and the Jane/Lisbon frienship...


I'm excited to rewatch this, I'll watch it someday this week and post my thoughts here after. I hope you all do the same!

I just finished watching the episode

It hasn't been that long since I've watched it, but comparing the episode to the new season, I noticed how young they all look!

It was really strange seeing the sheriff, knowing that he's Red John. He's definitely been creepy from the start. There's something about the way he looks at Jane, even if he wasn't meant to be RJ yet. Also, how weird is it that he and Jane played rock, paper, scissors?

Rigsby's crush on Van Pelt is so cute I'm really glad they ended up together.

I loved Cho's facial expression when Jane was talking to the staff and said Cho was the bureau's graphologist

It's funny seeing Lisbon trying to deal with Jane's crazy ideas and theories, she reminds me of Kim.

Jane's scene with the victim's brother was sad

The way Rigsby looked at Van Pelt when she was undercover His ''now you've gone too far'' when she hit him was a bit over the top.

Watching that scene of Van Pelt and the sheriff is so strange, I wonder what would've happened if she had taken him up on his offer to give her a ride.

I remember when we were rewatching S1 after it ended my sister was all THIS GUY IS RED JOHN. But when I reminded her of that after 6.08, she wouldn't even take the credit "Nicole, we said everyone was Red John back then."

I always thought there was something creepy about him, but I could never make up my mind as to who Red John might be.

I thought his creepiness was just a red herring to try and make us think he was the bad guy for that specific episode. But yeah, anytime anyone showed up, my sister and I were all THAT IS RED JOHN.

I quoted your posts because you basically covered everything, haha. I especially liked how you said Lisbon was then like Kim is now - and Lisbon had already known Jane for five years at that point! Though Kim does have more data to go off of

Oh okay Yeah I just wrote everything down while I was watching.

It's kind of strange how they'd already been working for five years, and she was still trying so hard to get used to Jane's way of solving cases.

Yeah. I'm thinking maybe once Red John started killing again that fired Jane up and he started acting differently.
