I loved watching Jane drive Mashburn's cars - especially blindfolded. But I disliked Mashburn right from the start. He's kind of a sleazy slimeball.

I also think at this point Jane was still in so much emotional pain from the murders that he really didn't care if he lived or died. It was a while yet before he would allow himself to love Lisbon enough that he had a reason to live again.
