So if you didn't know, I was invited to NSPA in November for my photography work. I found out today that my advisor entered me in a Best In Show competition which decides the best journalists/photojournalists in the entire nation! It's an honor even for my advisor to consider my work worthy of this award, so I'm extremely excited to see Woodward speak and for this competition!

Yay Katie!

I have good news, but of a different sort. I've been struggling with depression for about two years but was never officially diagnosed - Robin Williams kinda made me want to go get help, but I was still too afraid to. My mom dragged me in yesterday and I have a counselor and he is referring me to where I can get medication, so I might get to feel normal again soon!

Good for you, Nicole! It's a really big step just to recognize that you need help so props to you for that - and YAY to your mom for dragging you in!

It's too early to say that it makes me feel a lot better, but I'm hopeful. At the very least, I'm exploring options I didn't have before, so there's a good chance something will help.

It doesn't bother me - August is too hot, even when it's cooler than usual.

True. I'm working on a project that was supposed to be completed by the end of August. It's not going to make it - but that's a lot because half the team has been on vacation most of this month. Oh well.
