Jane/Lisbon ANTI-thread #1: They're bad apart and they're even worse together.

For the people who see they're not all that. Here you are welcome to admit it. Discuss.

Yep, Minelli should have separated them way back. Sent Lisbon off to San Diego or something. Cho would have handled Jane way better. Kept him in line.

Yeah, I would have loved to see Jane controled. But better yet, get Jane to jail where he belongs and have Cho star this show.

Cho and Rigsby. They were the real investigators, after all.

A few people don't like them together romantically. But this thread was because of April Fools.

Yep - we were just joking around.

I can't speak for Mai, but I LOVE Jane/Lisbon.

To be honest, I always liked their relationship but in earlier seasons I was kinda torn on wanting them as a couple or not. I was between "I want at least one starring duo on TV that doesn't turn into a couple - I hope they're original for once" and "ohhh but they're so cute"

It's funny how that has turned around so much. It used to be that, unless an on-screen couple was already married, you almost never got any romance from any couple. Even the shows with married couples were usually comedies - like I Love Lucy or the Bob Newhart shows - and the relationship rarely displayed much romance. In the very rare instance that it wasn't a comedy - the only one I can think of is Mission Impossible - the relationship played almost zero part in the typical episode. You knew the two were a couple, but they almost never had any "couple" scenes.

Now - anytime a new show comes on, it's almost a given that there will at least be UST between some of the principles; and usually that resolves itself into an acknowledged relationship with a small number of seasons. There's also the tendency of having a secondary couple that get into a relationship almost immediately while the main couple dance around each other for a bit longer.

So if you think Jane and Lisbon were not able to be "original" for once - from a certain perspective, they actually carried on a tradition of being radically different that started sometime in the early 80s.

Well, I meant original for the time and for the shows that aired around the same time. If they carried on a "tradition" then it wasn't original
