I heard or read an article that in the fifth season Nick will embrace his dark side after the deaths of his mother and ex-girlfriend and in the first twelve he will grieve their losses and will not abandon his child after his birth.

There are several articles of that nature going around, Nici. The ones I've seen are basically someone misinterpreting or trying to put a spin on various interviews from late season 4.
Kouf jokingly said the first 12 or so episodes would be Nick sitting in a dark room. Now, you know they can't do that. One of the writers tweeted this one week ago: Quote:

No he won't; but I don't see that he necessarily has to live with it and Adalind. I don't know if I can stand to watch that show.

I never thought of it as having been "abandoned" because Nick was always with Aunt Marie, whom he loved dearly. Kelly left him with her to keep him safe.
Now he'll have to find a way to protect the boy while continuing to be a presence in his life. It won't be easy. __________________
