9.22 Mi Familia Pt. 2 Episode Discussion

Episode 9.22 Mi Familia Part 2

When Simon (David Gallagher) and his new girlfriend, Rose (guest star Sarah Thompson), make an unexpected visit to Glenoak to meet their respective parents, Annie (Catherine Hicks) begins to suspect their relationship might be on a fast track. Meanwhile, Eric (Stephen Collins) hides the news of Mary's (Jessica Biel, who does not appear in the episode) divorce, worried that it will most certainly break Annie's heart; Martin (Tyler Hoechlin) is unwittingly caught in the middle of Ruthie (Mackenzie Rosman) and Vincent's (guest star Thomas Dekker) doomed relationship; Lucy (Beverley Mitchell) and Kevin (George Stults) may have finally found the perfect house; and Eric hits a roadblock in his efforts to unite George and Gwen (guest stars Brad Maule and Holly Fulger) with three kids in need of a foster family.
Nikolas & Lorenzo Brino also star. Joel J. Feigenbaum directed the episode written by Sue Tenney

Crappiest season finale. Ever. Who's with me?

There isn't ven anything to comment about becuase NOTHING NEW HAPPENED! This could have been a one-parter, easily. There was absolutely no point to this whole season. Lucy had Savannah and Ruthie is dating. Those are the only two differences between last year at this time and now. I'm never going to stop watching, but Ihave definitely given up on this show. It's a real shame, too. I loved it so much, I still do, but it just doesn't live up to any standards anymore. It's sucky and that makes me sad and mad all at the same time.

Umm...well it was better than last week. I think.

The Good
- Ruuuthinn. The hug, plus the eyes and the music.
- Kevin and Lucy are gonna finally move out. Thank God.

The Bad
- Why do they have to have every one of Simon's new girlfriends be bad/evil? Because all of his new girlfriends want sex and sex = evil? And whyy do they all want to get married? Seriously, I know lots of college sophomores, and I know about one who's thinking about married.
- The line "We've raised two of the most irresponsible people in the world." was the worst line ever uttered on the show. The hell? With this character assasination, yes Mary is extremely irresponsible. But Simon has sex a couple of times, dates a couple girls the parentals don't like, and suddenly he's a horrible person? And um...ok this is an episode where we see a druggie/alcoholic mother who does nothing for her kids. THIS IS AN IRRESPONSIBLE WOMAN, not Mary or Simon.
- Like kaykayelle said...nothing's happened all season. Ruthie dates, Simon has sex, the twins get a storyline, and that's it? Yet surprisingly, I liked it more than last year.

There's definitely more, but whatever Everwood's on and I'm trying to watch some good tv for change.

The Ruthin hug was the best part. Easy. This show has gone so far down the hill. It really is a trainwreck now. It used to be great. Honestly, I'm not sure what they could do next season to redeem it, not that they will but.. y'know.

Like you said, kaykayelle. Nothing new happened.

Why can't this show ever have a good cliffhanger?

Well, I'm going to watch some good TV, can't wait for some bright/hannah <33

Yeah. Now that you mention it brokenglass, there was no cliffhanger. At all. Everything was wrapped up with nice pink bow. WTH? if they don't even know that you are supposed to have a cliffhanger at the end of a season finale then there is no hope for them.

Yeah. Season 7. Why are Detective Michaels and Lou at the door telling Eric he neds to sit down? Is Lucy pregnant? Who is Mary married to?
That was the last one they've had I think. Was there one last year? I can't remember at the moment.

I definatly think the only good thing was when Ruthie and Martin hugged, i loved it! but the rest was just stupid, as everyone has said, there was no point, it was a bad finale, they have no right to say they raised bad kids, what thye didnt doesnt make them bad, simon having sex, this is the 21st century! sure it would be great if he waited but i know very few people who do/have waited!

I hope they find a good storyline for next year!

I read the spoilers, never watched the show

This season finale didn't answer any questions
it was like it was made for the series finale really.

DUHH Brenda Hampton you are signed on for another year why the hell did you do something with martins dad? Like have him not come home? We'd want to know why it'd be killing us all summer like with Desperate Housewives and Gilmore Girls.

Take a page outta their book. Start doing something catchy, uplifting and something that Can't be ignored.

I'm done ranting/raving

I watched the end ... meh, like everyone said, nothing new happened. It was honestly a waste of fim/money.

They need to come up with some new/fresh material for there last year. Maybe beg Jessica Biel to come back ASAP to give closure for her trainwreck of a character. Hmmm ...

When Annie and Eric were asking themselves where they went wrong with their kids, I was totally shouting, "Sex! When you taught them that sex was dirty and unnatural outside of marriage!" The f-ed up relationship that all of the Camden kids have with sex is really what has screwed them up. I totally believe Simon's theory that his older siblings got married to have sex. And instead of behaving like an adult, Simon keeps getting mixed up with weird, sex/marriage-crazed girls when he's only 20 years old. Why can't Simon be like every other guy I knew at 20 that would run screaming if you even said the M word? "I think I love you" and he's ready to get married? Are you f-in kidding me?!

Lucy and Kevin's marriage gets more screwed up every time I watch this show! Lucy puts an offer out on a house that is crappy and backs up to her parents' house without talking to her husband and he's *happy* about it? What? And I thought the whole point of moving out was so that they could be away from Ma and Pa Camden - living next door so defeats the purpose. Is Glenoak really that huge that living across town would be such a hardship? Give me a break!

I haven't like Ruthie and Vincent from the start and this is another example of why. Their break up was so emotionless - I just didn't care that he wanted to be free to screw around with Hawaiian girls.

I really do not understand why Eric let Annie get her hopes up about Mary and Carlos. That made no sense to me whatsoever.

I don't know why I still watch this show - every time, I think it's going to be good and then I'm disappointed. I thought getting rid of the extraneous families and characters would help this season, but it didn't. I still don't know why.

Saldy enough I have a feeling that the last two episodes were possibly what were suppose to be the series finale. Don't you guys agree almost? I mean when is it that there is a TV show that DOESN'T have a cliffhanger? I mean personally the spoilers that I was reading at the end when Martin's dad comes home they could have done something right there. Alot of us LOVE Martin (just not the way he entered the Camden's home all weird and strange like) I mean maybe while they were all at the airport they could of had everyone walk off the plane but Martin's dad and then for Martin to like get freaked out our something and then the next episode they could have him walking off the plane or something like he was detained because he was talking to the pilot. Something stupid cuz you all know Brenda Hampton.

Seriously this whole Simon/Sex thing is getting on my nerves. Not only did they portray it poorly it just well doesn't seem right. I'm 22 years old and believe me most of my friends aren't "sex-hopping" from one man to another. They date them for a little bit, have sex and then either continue to date them or they just become friends. I don't think I know one person that has sex with as many women as Simon has in the last few epiosdes seriously. There is one girls friend that I know of who continues to go back and forth but well she's mental in the head. I hope for next season they make him normal again. It would be nice to see Simon not worrying about sex etc anymore.....

Mary/Carlos have had some tough times. Then again why was it they got married for? I mean maybe it was because Mary wanted to do something that her parents would go pyscho over. Instead they did the opposite and she got frustrated. Now, I really would have loved to have seen Jessica Biel come back for the season finale and call Annie/Eric and possibly start to tell them why she did what she did. I'd of like that a whole lot better. It would of made the episode interesting. Then agian it's just what I'm wishing would happen.

Lucy/Kevin looked at a house. Hated the house continued to look at a house. Lucy goes by herself and finds a crappy house that's right behind her parents house. DUH DUH DUH we all knew this entire season that they were going to move next door to the camden's now....they aren't next door they are behind! Just what I want!! To live behind my parents home in a dump that in real life they can fix up, paint and do some other things to and maybe because it's in California sell for 3xs the amount they spent on the house. GREAT IDEA for the HOUSE BAD IDEA for their sanity

Ruthie/Martin have been through a lot lets see them together next year!

I don't know about the rest of you, but this finale didn't make me excited for next season. This really was the worst finale in years. There was no cliffhangers, or shocking plot twists. Season 7 was the last truly great finale, it's all gone down hill since then.

This episode made me hate Annie & Eric even more than I already had. They always act like they're the world's best parents and people, but can't ever seem to handle their own children. Yeah, they did screw up, big time! I've wanted Mary to come back, so we could get her side of this whole thing, but now I hope Jessica Biel never comes back to this show. Mary isn't Mary anymore, she's the official Camden eternal failure. Why would/should she come back for that?
