And I will be even more glad when she finally arrives in winterfell, but yesher time in essos felt like ages I was always wondering when she will finally sail for westeros.

Essos was sometimes annoying. the real action was in Westeros and she was always stuck there.

Season 4 and 5 were not too great for her.

loved the pit scene in season 5 though, one of my most favorite dragon/Dany scenes.

Also because of the Dany/Jorah moment?

And still all these events were important for her to develop and learn.

Still there are moments in every season in which she could shine

It's the little things that I came to love, however. The story does tend to meander, however there's a reason for that; it's reflective of the sluggish process of fully controlling Slavers Bay. Although she has dragons, a sensational army and some of the finest advisers that a ruler could ask for, she is completely new to the concept of 'ruling' as opposed to conquering.

Part of the problem is that they basically exist because GRRM lost control of the Westeros story line and it kept growing and growing through multiple books and he needed something for her to do other than just not appear for most of the series. At least that's my theory

I actually liked her storyline both in the show and books. I kind of lament that we did not get more aspects of the Essos politics in the show. That said, I understand why some found it to be too convoluted and ultimately it is Martin stalling to give time for other story lines to develop.

Personally I didn't mind the Dany chapters. They will seem quite tedious but if you read carefully you will notice that some things are not what they seem to be. With that said I am glad she finally arrived in Westeros, because that's where the real action is
