It's obviously how it will go.

Time for Euron to feel dragonfire now that his power over Yara is complete. Maybe his incestuous desires will allow her to gain a knife and turn the tide; and she can save a portion of the fleet from fire if they swear fealty to her and Dany.

The Dothraki are still a large and fearsome fighting force, able to use both bow and sword from horseback, like the Mongols could. The Unsullied are also formiddable, especially with air support. The largest dragon is the size of a 747 according to the showrunners, so I think you'd have to hit it more than once or get a lucky shot. Dany will now have to use them wisely, avoiding the ballistas until ground forces could take them out. She also needs armor for herself. She doesn't have the luxury of reckless strategy any more. She has to be smart.

And sill Cersei isn't the big threat. The White Wakers are.

An excellent episode — head and shoulders above last week's! It had much more talky-talky and less fighty-fighty — which is good, as it's the dialogue and character interactions that have always made this show great, not the action scenes. It may not be at the level we enjoyed when it was based directly on Martin's writing, but still, it was enjoyable.

The characters were almost all *in* character — certainly Dany, Jon, and Tyrion seemed true to themselves, and in the shorter scenes featuring them the same was true of Davos, Varys, Olenna, and others. The only notable exception is Jaime... I remain disappointed that the showrunners put the brakes on what seemed like a compelling long-term redemption arc for him last year, and now have him meekly standing by Cersei and doing her bidding, despite her clear descent into depravity and nihilism.

That's right we can't be happy with Jaime's character at all. But I'm sure by the end of the season he will turn against Cersei.

I predict the Kingslayer will be a Queenslayer. At some point he will no longer accept Cersei's crazed rule.

I wondered about that as well. And if there were still a child left, I could see it happening: He'd put with sisterwife's insanity and cruelty until it endangered offspring, then he'd step in. But while Jamie looks grim about what he's doing, he's doing it, and I can't think of a reason for him to betray his true love. Then again, his redemption arc has been long, and might have a dramtic finale.

Next season, clearly.

This season might be too soon...but I think Jaime will fail a decision by the end of this season.
