I am scared. Haven't read any of the books or spoilers. I just hope nobody I like is going to die. So far I've been lucky with my characters. Please let nobody I love die. I'm getting a panic attack...sunday has to come faster...

I actually hope this episode will be more like 2x09 and not as shocking as 1x09 or 3x09. Since there is something with a battle going on I guess we have good chances than 4x09 resembles 2x09. Plus there is no wedding going on

here are my thoughts:
- bummed about Grenn and Pyp but I cheered when Magnar got it. and that boy who killed Ygritte…obvious from the first time he would be her dead. never shipped Jon/Ygritte or liked her and now that she's gone i'm not too sad. at least Edd is still alive, and he was great in this episode! - loved this great moment with Maester Aemon and Sam! - Kit was perfect in every single scene  - the effects were mind-blowing, especially the giants and that gigantic scythe thing. the fighting looked spectacular - no Mance, just a bit of Ghost and a few other characters i missed this episode - it was a good episode but not better than Blackwater imo. what about you guys? __________________

I guess my expectations after "Blackwater" were a bit too high and I overall I enjoyed this episode but it wasn't as wow-ing as 2x09. As a battle sequence the episode was amazing, epic, and everything. The effects were awesome, the giants were awesome the fights were awesome.
Still I missed something - can't even say what it was. It was definitely right to focus just on the Wall and include no one else than the North storyline. And still I thought the episode could have been…I don't know, more thrilling maybe? Or maybe everything was great and my expectations were just too high? My last thoughts: Jon was a great leader and Kit got his moment he deserved. Gilly/Sam start to grew on me. I was glad to see that kid Olly get revenge for his father. I cheered when Ygritte and Styr died. I cried when Pyp and Grenn died. RIP them  |
