What an episode. So much feels. :(

I felt just as helpless as everyone else when the fireman got infected with the virus from the Chitauri mask. And my face was exactly like Coulson's when he realized Simmons got infected too.

And can we talk about how amazing FitzSimmons was in this ep? I love their sibling type of relationship but this ep... it's hard not to ship them. :thud: Just OMG. :cry: Their faces when the anti serum (on the 3rd mice) didn't work. Fitz was still on about finding another cure and then Simmons put him out cold. She did indeed open the ramp to jump. :( I'm so glad Ward saved her just in time. I LOVE that scene in the end (Fitz' room) where they were talking and Simmons kissed Fitz (on the cheek, natch). Fitz' face after though. :love: But really, Simmons was about to die. She can very easily die. But I'm glad that was just a close call. I'm still worried. We can have more 'near death experiences' soon and I don't think I can take it. I think it was good that they used Jemma as an 'example' for this ep because she is so loved by everyone.

And so much backstory on Coulson in this ep. :thud: I just wish we had more of Agent Blake in this ep. It's good that he knows that he is different after death but he's not sure what they did to him and he likes his new self now. That speech he made with the fireman, I got a bit teary-eyed. I love that end part with May and we're beginning to see how close they are now.

Some funny bits were the impersonations for Ward. I think it's the show's slight jab at all the comments they're getting about Ward elsewhere as frankly not everyone likes the character. I thought it was clever.

Whew, so glad I'm done worrying now. That was an emotional rollercoaster. Elizabeth nailed it, she's amazing. :thud:

Oh man this episode :bawl: I started crying when Coulson gave his speech to the firefighter and didn't stop. It was so strong.

Simmons was, of course, the highlight of the episode. Such a joy to see her be such a focus and Fitzsimmons especially sining and showing us how important this relationship is and how much Simmons had come to be in the others hearts.

Also really loved the slight insight into May and how much understanding she has for Coulson.

The second half of this episode was the strongest this show has been. Just amazing.

They've brought up Coulson's death in every episode, but this is the first episode I actually cared about that fact, and felt what he's going through as a character. The scenes with the fireman and May really sold it to me.

I loved Simmons & Fitz making fun of Ward, and Ward himself imitating the imitation. :lol:

Simmons has been my favourite character since the pilot, so to see her get this kind of focus was just wonderful. And Elizabeth KILLED IT. Props to Iain too. So many great Fitzsimmons/Simmons stuff there. And WELL deserved development on that dynamic and those characters.

I think the writers are really starting to figure out what works and what doesn't, and it's already beginning to show. While I was very happy with the previous two episodes, this is the first time I've really had an emotional connection to the show and characters.

Just good stuff all around.
