Well, didn't see that coming. There have been times where I've been able to predict what comes next (eg with Mike from last episode) but I was literally like holy moly with the Skye thing! At least there was that which blew my mind before my theory about Dom (?) being in cahoots with the shenanigans was proven correct.

That said, I loved Coulson throughout the episode and particularly how he handled Skye. And man did I feel for him too. Great job CG!

Some interesting stuff with the Skye/Ward dynamic but not as intense as I would have liked but definite improvement over last couple of episodes. What was with May and why is she feeling so guilty about her thing with Ward?

I really liked the reveal on Skye. I kind of figured she was going to be special/had powers, but knowing that so many died to protect her is pretty rough. Chloe did a great job.

I loved the expansion on the SHIELD universe, and the rivalry between Sci-Tech and Operations was a nice touch and made for some nice interactions between Fitzsimmons and Ward (OT3!).

Quinn being tied to The Clairvoyant was something I never considered.

CGI was very well done, considering the amount they had.

I'm interested to see more of Donnie Gill too.

...And suddenly I had a flash, a vision of where all this might be going. And this arc could conceivably take two or three seasons to play out. The show is essentially a corporate property; J.J. Abrams and crew know that it's in no danger of cancellation, which gives them the luxury of long-term storytelling.

So one by one, we're seeing future supervillains come into existence... and presumably the Clairvoyant can see it all. I think eventually we'll see them all be broken out of their various SHIELD prisons and come together under the Clairvoyant's banner.

We already know that Coulson is special somehow, that whatever Fury had done to bring him back from the dead created a blind spot for the Clairvoyant. But I think we'll discover, a long time from now and very near to the end of the epic battle whose pieces are just now starting to be put into place, that all along there's only ever been one real threat to the Clairvoyant, one person whose destiny it is to defeat him...and she just happens to be riding along on the plane.

Poor Skye, that was a lot to take in. I wonder what her power could be? (i mean if she does actually have one) I'm just going to assume that he told her everything because after all the secrets that were kept from him I don't think he would do the same to her (I hope :/ )

And I know May is brilliant and all but seriously flying into the eye of storm....really???

So SHIELD has been aroundat least 24 years with many people killed in the lineof duty.
Skye is not just human or there would have been no need to protect her.
Coulson is the right age to be an early recruit or an early cyborg never fully human anyway. Melinda is also old enough to have been present in the early years. her past might be even more fascinating.
I don't know what laws are involved, but when a young man wholooks like Bobby Drake becomes Ice-Man I'd say the X-Men have begun to appear. Since he's not a mutant he can become Jack frost (the villain who fought Iron Man in Tales of Suspense 45 and probably not used since).
Stan Lee will be in the next episode! he could play:
Sergeant Fury from World War Ii (the Colonel's adoptive father),
The creator of SHIELD
George Shultz
or a comicbook writer the Pentagon took hostage in the 1960s so they could make all his fictional characters real,or
Merlin the Magician aka the Clairvoyant,living backwards but really on the side of good, trying to fix things that went wrong bit by bit when the situation presents itself until he catches up to his original life in the fourth century,or
Immortus (from Avengers 10) setting up classic fights for his own amusement.
Coulson's speech sounds like something Lee would have written himself,possibly for this episode, possibly long ago. Does anyone have evidence?

The Skye story. Whoa. Definitely bigger than I expected.

Not sure why May brought up her sexual relationship with Ward... I suppose that means it'll be becoming a forefront at some point in the near future.

Donnie Gill, clearly we'll be seeing him again at some point.

Loved all the action and the teamwork, great stuff.
