Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars share their audition stories

Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson)

"On the day when it was Phil Coulson's final scene in The Avengers,
I kept making jokes saying, 'Okay, he's really stabbing me. Is there
going to be some rewrite pages? Is there anyway we can talk about this?'
But he just kept stabbing me, and it was clear I was very dead. I think Jeremy
Latcham from Marvel made a joke like, 'Well, I mean, are you really ever
dead in Marvel?' But then I saw the blood, and he was like, 'No, you're dead.'
So I was very surprised to get a phone call from Joss Whedon and Jeph Loeb
saying, 'So, you may not be that dead.' I was like, 'Wow, how are we going to
do that? Because I don't want to do anything to undercut The Avengers. How's
that going to work?' They said, 'Well, he doesn't know this, but ….' They told
me basically the pitch of the pilot, which is Coulson thinks he had a near miss
and the truth is way darker, and the costs to being brought back are a huge mystery
and really grim. You don't get to come back without paying a price, and that
price went on for quite some time, and I wouldn't be surprised if it
comes back up in the 100th episode."

i know he started it all i loved him in shield and the marvel movies its fun to rewatch it and see him in there

I thought he wasn't, but I can't remember.

i think he is but we have had other actors from marvel guest star on shield

I only had remembered Agent Hill

I hope Coulson will be okay though. That they find a cure or something for him and don't have that terrible timeline in the future.

Captain Marvel takes place in the 90's so he'll probably have more hair.

He looks like Mel Gibson circa Forever Young/Lethal Weapon.

Coulson returns in Captain Marvel

So this could be interesting...

Aside from the 'popular' super heroes, I don't know my comics. I have no knowledge of Captain Marvel, but I'd see it just to see Clark Gregg. Plus it would be interesting to see how Coulson was before everything with the Avengers happened and how he's changed into the character he is now.

Plus, wouldn't this leave the possibility open for Fury to make an appearance as well?

Yes and all front .. I only know a little about capatian marvel so it will be all new to me really but I'm excited to get the old Coulson back into that world would be fun.

See I would love fury to come back but Coulson is his foot man so maybe not

I feel like I've heard of Captain Marvel, but I'm not sure.

I will definitely see it since Coulson will be in it.
