Don't get me wrong, the acting is spot-on wonderful. I have always been a fan of Elizabeth's acting on this show.

It's just the direction in which the character is written... The writers are giving people what they want, I get it. And it's working. Look at all this praise. But the Jemma Simmons I loved so much of S1 is barely there anymore, and she's being replaced by someone who doesn't really interest me anymore.

Many people don't agree with the direction they have taken her. Same goes for Ward but that's a whole other can of worms. The show has gotten darker but I still think S1 Jemma is in there wanting to come out to play. If only they'll stop throwing horrible things at her and the ones she cares about.

Yeah, but she didn't get as much recognition in S1 or 2 for that matter (some fans started to dislike her then) for her performance. It makes me nervous that the writers are going to continue on this path because of all the praise. Not to sound like a downer and all.

Drama usually gets the most attention and thereby praise by the media.

Her path this season isn't going to be affected by the praise as they have already written most if not all the episodes and, if not all in detail, then it's at least mapped out. I suspect so is season 4.

Also when you write a love story, especially an angsty one about unrequited love, someone always end up looking like the bad guy. It is what it is. I think they explained her actions quite well in S2 even if she didn't get to explain it all to Fitz but I suspect that was intentional. Time will tell.

It's not that I dislike the character. In a way it's worse, I'm beginning to find her boring.

I know drama sells. And like you said, it is what it is...

Oh and I read your story. I just haven't gotten around to commenting on it yet.
