What Ward did to Fitzsimmons ended up changing both of them. They were never the same again after he dropped them in the ocean and left them to die. I will always miss s1 Jemma.

Such a traumatic way to end a season!! I could not believe my eyes when I first saw this scene.

Yeah that S1 ending was pretty dramatic too. Supposedly, both Iain and Liz continued to cry even after they had finished filming the scene where Fitz sacrifices himself for Jemma. At the time, they didn’t know if the show was being picked up for another season or if Fitz had died. So it was like if they were really saying goodbye to each other.
