Dammit, I forgot it was on. I remembered like, an hour ago and said to myself, "Agents of Shield in less than an hour!" I've been catching up on Breaking Bad lately, so I think I've got a valid excuse there. ^_^

The Survivor

Wasn't impressed with the episode and so far the pilot has been better even with the cameo at the end tonight which was a fun scene.

I love Lenora Varela. I watch her version of Cleopatra every March 15. When she kissed Coulson it felt like she was kissing me.
When they mentioned gamma radiation I perked up. That young guy looks like Rick Jones. The Hulk won't show up, but they could create the Leader.
The action sequences went too fast to follow but worked.
We still need to know where that thing came from. I want to see it again.

Ok I totally guessed the villian and Skye's intentions in this ep, but it was worth it anyways

So for the most part I enjoy the show.

I still feel that Coulson was better used in smaller doses but I am getting used to him being the main guy. I don’t remember him being nearly as cheesy in the movies.

Grant Ward: could they have picked a more normal forgettable looking and acting person? Like he has zero charisma and no personality. There is nothing about him that I actually enjoy or really remember.

Fitz & Simmons: Seriously? Fitz is essentially 12 and Simmons is just kind of annoying. I feel like they are just the same person. I don’t buy that they are just THAT good, or that educated.

I really wish they had picked 1 or 2 older but more established actors.

So I basically think that half the cast was either miscast or just miss steps in character. I don’t feel any chemistry between anyone really. Coulson is good, May is awesome at her job, and everyone else just feels “there” for me. It all just feels kind of clunky.

The episode itself was ok. I think I will like it better when I rewatch with my friends on Friday.

Wasn't interested in the villain story, partly because of the actress.

BUT. I genuinely didn't see that cliffhanger coming and I'm kicking myself for it.

I do like the team conflicts and various dynamics, and they're currently what I enjoy most about the show (I have a thing for teams and such. ^_^).

The action scenes are still good, the show is still fun. I think they're just going to take the first batch of episodes to really work out the kinks and see what works and what doesn't, then really get into the mythology. Or, at least, that's what I'm hoping.

Fantastic cameo! Somehow I wasn't spoiled for it, even though I hear the interwebs went bananas.

I really enjoyed this episode even more than the Pilot.

I did see Reyes as the villain (without getting spoiled) and her guys look like goons anyway. I love the fighting and action scenes. I like it when they're all chaotic as fight scenes are supposed to be. I love that Melinda May had more scenes in this episode. She doesn't talk much and she just does the job. But what was Bahrain supposed to be?

LOVE FitzSimmons. I love dorky people + they're brilliant at what they do so even better. And I can totally get into Skye/Ward now with that twist in the end which I did NOT see coming. This is the episode that I felt they were a team. I think the cast did a great job and I felt much more comfortable with how they're coming into their characters now.

I love the Nick Fury cameo! Though I think it was too early. But to have him screaming at Coulson about the cost of the plane, etc. was fun to watch. Phil obsessing over Lola is the most hilarious thing ever.

Also, where is the 0-8-4 now? Did they tuck it in and hide it in an unclassified location? Or was it that exploding thing in the end? I think I need a re-watch.

I really enjoyed all the team interaction in this one.

I've been completely unspoiled for this show so I think that's making it even better to watch. I totally got the vibe that Reyes was a baddie though.

Loved the Fury cameo, the fishtank bit amused me. Coulson's obsession with Lola is cute.

The scenes with Fitzsimmons and the Ward/Skye, much liked too.

And I really liked that we got a little bit more of a peek into Melinda's background.
