I like to think they ended up together eventually. Once they stopped being so freaked out about liking each other.

So many feels from that gifset!!!

That's the ONLY consolation for cancelling this show, giving my imagination the freedom to dream up a happy ending with them! Had that show continued and gone to Joss's plan for Inara I would've been FURIOUS! Along with being depressed to no end.

I'm going to be perfectly happy thinking they made it, because in my mind those two were meant to be.

Gosh that scene. I can just feel her heart break in my heart too. Amazing job Morena did with that too.

I'll have to rewatch to remember more of their story I liked them but I was more into Simon and believe her name was Kay or something along those lines. Julie's character

Do you mean Kaylee? Jewel's character? Definitely rewatch, Mal and Inara are my favorite parts of the show.
