The only reasons I can see for the time jump was for Selina's transformation and giving Barbara time after The Ogre ordeal.

i feel like it was the only time jump. it never made sense that she made it alive without going to a hospital and suddenly is ok and shown recruiting people not long after like nothing happend at all.

FOX and Gotham's showrunners already have the rights to use the actual character of Batman, as per their licensing agreement, so the only thing stopping them from doing a massive time-jump and actually having an adult Bruce suit up is that doing so doesn't fit the story they want to tell and the approach they want to take.

^ The stories they're telling are just as 'real' and viable as actually having Bruce in the Batsuit, and the show honestly doesn't need to exercise the 'Bat-option' even though it's well within their prerogative to do so if they so chose.

I do think David Masousz could handle suiting up in 5 years or so if they chose to go that route, but, as I said above, the show doesn't need to go to that 'well' and probably won't.

^I hope they do, if not; that's ok too! I just have a feeling that many fans will eventually want the bat option as well cause I think their dying to see how Jim and Bullock will handle Batman. I'm glad their telling a story like this cause instead of just wading into the action, they're giving a great backstory to how everyone came to be. Regardless, the show is awesome and always will be

I'm fine with the show the way it is

Backstories are much more interesting than something we've already seen and known
