Possible Board Closure Discussion: Please Read and Respond!
 

Catia and I have been discussing this, and we think that it may be time to close this board. Our post counts have been declining over the past few months and we have very few regular posters. As you know, Fan Forum requires that we average at least 15 posts per day, with lower numbers than that leading to warnings and then possible closure of the board. We would prefer to go out under our own terms rather than be forced to close due to low post counts.

Please let us know what you think. We'd be glad to hear any suggestions or advice to renew interest here. Remember that to keep the board going, we need the commitment of a few regular, dedicated posters. As much as we love this board, please don't just post to "save" the board and then disappear again, because we'll be in the same position that we're in now if you do.

Personally closing down the board is not something we want but we really can't keep it going if we can't get the post count. It's hiatus and things do tend to slow down but this board has almost come to a complete stop. :( The only reason it hasn't is because we've been getting some help. But we can't have them helping forever. We do need dedicated posters. I really do hope there are some of you still out there because I would love to keep the board. But if not then sadly maybe the best decision is to close it.:(

So please let us know whichever way you feel about this.

I hope this thread helps us figuring out a solution, because it will be really sad to see this board close. :(

I'm sad to be hearing this too. But at least we can see if the board should stay or if it's better to be closed.:(

Heather and Catia, I'm so sorry to see this :( :hug: But i totally understand from both of your views about it. I've experienced closing 2 boards that i still want open just weren't getting the amount of posts required, so i know how hard it is to put up this thread and close the board. :( Again, i'm sorry :hug:

i know i wasn't a poster cus i never found the time to watch the show, but i wish that i did find the time to watch and post, then maybe i could have helped you both out a little.

This is so sad but I understand your decision girls.

I used to post a lot around here but because of RL and more responsibility here on FF, I have to give up boards I used to frequent on. I know that this board will thrive because I found that there are still loyal posters and the board has always been active. But lately it isn't and with the hiatus still a long way to go, it'll be hard to keep this board afloat.

I agree that it will be best to close the board if you both feel like it's going to be a burden keeping up with the post count plus with no news of a third series, that doesn't help as well. I'm so sorry that it has come to this and I regret not helping out when I can to save this board. :(

I wish you had too hon. And hope you still do even if this board closes. It's such an incredible show.

Lindsay - I was really trying to wait until information about a s3 was announced. If we got it posters might have come back. But it's been about 4 months now and still nothing.:( And with the pc being the way it was waiting stopped being an option.:(

if i pledge to post a min of 15 times a day, will that help? i mean, at least until we get season 3 news? because i'd hate to see this place go without a fight. although, i should have been posting here all along. *saw-wee*

Yeah it would suck to close the board and the have the show renewed

^ It really would and one thing I feared would happen. If the board closed that is when we would get a s3 renewal. Which is why I tried to wait until a s3 announcement to do this as hopefully a yes to s3 would bring in more traffic. And then if no and still no one really posted well then maybe closing it would be for the best.:(

Just saw the news on the mod board. :( I haven't watched the 2nd season yet, that's what kept me away for the most part. :( I'll try to catch up this week so that I can help with the post count. :)

But I can definitely understand your decision, it's hard to keep a board alive if the show is on hiatus for most of the year. We had the same problems with Misfits, especially that nobody was excited about the show anymore.
