if finn can't pull one well thought out sentence as to why he likes rae, there is justification in his dumping!

Yup, if she needs to hear it, there shouldn't be this huge problem to put something, ANYTHING into words.

I think maybe that question just surprised him at that moment. I'm sure he can make a list of reasons why he likes Rae, but it's not always easy to get the right words when you're surprised with an important question like that.

Maybe Finn's answer wasn't very helpful at the moment, but even if he said that right stuff, I don't think Rae would believe it anyway, so. :(

Again - the fact that he didn't come out with some 'When Harry met Sally' speech is real.
He's a teenage lad who's not good with words.
They haven't even been dating for long, so he doesn't know why he likes her he just does. He likes her because she's Rae - what that means or why, he can't put into words yet.
The fact that he likes her should be enough, BUT, she is not well enough (or experienced enough at life) to understand that.
I agree with this.

Also maybe Rae is projecting a lot. Like with her being fake and lying to Finn about the reason for the breakout. So she takes out on Archie. Again no excuse for her outing him and I'm pissed at her for it but why I felt she did it.
I think she is. :( And it really sucks.

I agree. Just because he didn't say a list doesn't mean he didn't think of reasons. I'm sure Finn knows why he likes her but it could be yeah he's not good with words or maybe he felt he shouldn't have to justify why he wants to be with her. Maybe that's how it felt to him. And even if he had said something specific it wouldn't have mattered. Rae wouldn't have believed him anyway. He could have told her he thought she was the most gorgeous woman on the planet (as just an example) and she wouldn't have believed him.:(

But while a part of me does wish he had said something specific on why he likes her I love what he told her.

It really does.:(

Before she gets into a real relationship with anyone she has to love or at least respect herself. Because, having a boyfriend and a group of friends can't make her better. She has to feel about herself the way they do about her. And to be shown that everyone has insecurities and flaws ,may not be weight-related but it's there.

ITA, it probably never occurred to him to think and ponder why he likes her. He just does, period. I always thought he was intrigued by her from the start because she’s probably very different from other girls he hangs out with and then he didn’t know how to interact with her and came off as a bit of a jerk. And as they got closer, the feelings grew because they really had a good time around each other and had a few interests in common.

Apart from my usual RF feels , I have to say that the Rae/Liam scenes were pretty great especially the last one where she blew off Stacey and walked out of the restaurant. I think he’ll be a good outlet for her in terms of getting her to loosen up and not worry so much about what others think about her. So yeah, I’m onboard for this friendship as long as it doesn’t turn into anything more.

Yes! Go on Finn make her a mixtape and no BSB!! :D

I think if he knew how insecure she felt it would help both of them to understand. But Rae just wasn't ready, like someone else said she needs to love herself. Its so cliché but you really do need to love yourself before you can love another person. :cute_love_2:

I would love for him to give her a mix tape.

Sarah - I agree with that.

I may not want them romantically but I did enjoy the L/R scenes for this episode and I would like to see them being friends.
