ELEMENTARY is kicking off its season by taking a trip to London — and while there, viewers will meet Holmes’ brother, Mycroft (played by Rhys Ifans).

“Step Nine” – Holmes and Watson travel to London to help track down an old mentor and investigate an unsolved mystery. Meanwhile, Mycroft Holmes (Rhys Ifans), Sherlock’s estranged brother, reunites with Sherlock and reveals some secrets of his own, on the second season premiere of ELEMENTARY, Thursday, Sept. 26.

Really looking forward to seeing the scenes between Sherlock and his brother. Hope that there is some good banter scenes with one another, even if they are estranged.

Episode is still on for me, has a few minutes left.

Loved seeing Sherlock interact with his brother, and was really interesting seeing him interact with the people he used to work with. Great first episode of the season. Promo for next week looks good too!

Rhys Ifans was brilliant as Mycroft and all the interactions between Sherlock and Mycroft were interesting to see as well as entertaining hopefully we will see him again soon

Joan and Sherlock had some awesome scenes, and I loved the scene between Mycroft and Joan were he asked her how to be friends with Sherlock

Whoever decided to cast Rhys and Sean as Mycroft and Lestrade made a great choice because Jonny's relationship with both of them shone through to the characters and it made the fact that he had a past with both characters, believable.

I am glad that they included Gregson and Bell at the start because I was worried they wouldn't feature them in this ep.

I still haven't seen all of Season 1, but really enjoyed the S2 premiere, which, in many ways, felt like a second pilot for the show, which was a nice touch.

The highlights of the episode, for me, were Rhys Ifans' interactions with Jonny and Lucy; Mycroft and Sherlock really are a lot alike, as demonstrated by Mycroft blowing up Sherlock's stuff with a homemade bomb and their bickering and interplay. It was also neat to watch Mycroft bare his soul to Joan and ask her how to be Sherlock's friend.
