More than likely, getting two new Holmes' in one season may be too much for fans

Can you imagine the chaos when there are three Holmes' men around

too intense especially considering, that from what has been said, Sherlock's Dad isn't the nicest/best father around!

it could be an interesting dynamic for sure but it would be very intense too I think.

If there are more seasons, and I think there will, I'm certain they'll introduce their father. We haven't seen him, but Sherlock talks a lot about him.

I agree, but he is quite an influential character from Sherlock's past so I imagine there will be a lot going on, emotions wise, for Sherlock when he eventually does come on. I think the writers are probably trying to hold it off for the time being.

I would certainly like to think that the writers will bring him eventually. In the meantime at least we know that Rhys will be back at some point to annoy Sherlock once again

^ I think they will. Sometimes we fans want to know everything, all the details, but they usually have a plan (although it doesn't look like it with some shows ) and it's a gradual process until they reveal the entire background / connections of a certain character.

also I am sure they are hoping the show will last for a few more seasons, so they probably don't want to reveal everything too early on incase they run out of storylines, later.

totally agree, I really hope it stays around for a few more seasons, there is just so much to learn about all the characters.

No spoilers, just a few ideas about the Sherlock/Mycroft relationship and the confirmation that the dad is an issue that will be addressed like we suspected: "Sherlock's dad is a real and separate entity who will come along when the time is right,"

I hope Sherlock calls Mycroft his childhood nickname Fatty again. I have two older sisters and I have on occasion called them names like that to rile them up. Or as a term as endearment like I'm sure all siblings do.

Mycroft and Sherlock have a complicated relationship at the best of times. But I do think that they do care for each other. Sherlock looked rather hurt and angry when he found out that he had been kept out of the loop of Mycroft's illness. Though if it happen during Sherlock's bout with heroin. I doubt he could have donated anything until he was clean.

I agree that they care for each other, but there's a rivalry there too. I can't wait to know the reason Mycroft wants Sherlock back in London. Or if there really is a reason.

I think there is a reason and it must be an important reason if Mycroft would risk Sherlock's sobriety. Which Sherlock has stated works better if he stays in New York with his support system and his work.
