Joe always loved making Ryan feel worse about himself.
Looking back I noticed that Joe seemed a lot angrier towards Ryan in S1 than in the last two. I mean there was still stuff about them being connected and friends but you could see more clearly the hate there as well. |

Yeah, back in S1 I couldn't imagine them teaming up & working together but they did in S2

Yep
He gave him a look and shook his head. There was another funny moment like that where Ryan goes through a doorway with his gun raised, looking all serious and Joe just pokes his head around the corner. I don't think sweeping the area like a cop was Joe's style |

Yeah Ryan got into his FBI agent mode fast but it was something new for Joe. They weren't careful enough though

I think Joe probably would have preferred to just sneak in there and kill them while they were distracted.
