And Simon is always quick to mention something about Maia as he's with her, like he did when he was with Clary. So it's obvious its a way to hide the connection IMO.

Can someone please explain to me why Maryse was excommunicated? I don’t quite understand that and does that mean her husband/ex Robert was excommunicated as well?
