Alec did apologize, in City of Lost Souls. It’s not like he didn’t say “I’m sorry.” Also, if he’s really calling Magnus so much that Jace has to take his phone away and break it, don’t you think he’s apologizing? He probably isn’t calling him to share awesome Smitten Kitchen recipes.

Also, it’s not like Magnus is totally blameless in the whole breakup, either. If Alec apologized and Magnus took him back, they’d still have Magnus’ witholding issues to deal with.

Meanwhile Magnus says “Go away, I’m eating cold pizza for breakfast and making a collage of old vacation photos of Alec.”
