I love the close friendship between Clary and Izzy in the show, it's one of my favourite parts of Shadowhunters, they're very close like sisters. I'm sad they didn't get the chance to become each other's parabatai in the end

I watched the movie and read a lot of spoilers from the books and it sounds like Clary and Izzy did not have a close friendship in the books and they often argued and clashed, that was the impression I got from the movie too, which is disappointing. I much prefer the close friendship that they had in the show, and Izzy seems a lot more likable in the show too compared to the movie version.

Their friendship started off a lot rockier in the books

I think they had a lot of stereotypical teenage girl pettiness toward one another that I am glad the show did away with. They did grow to become the best of friends though
