That's true but I guess after everything they have gone through as a family, you would think they wouldn't care that he was Valentine's son

but I don't have a clue how he would search for them unless Valentine spills the information out.

I think it's mostly the environment and if he did grow up with Valentine, he would turned evil. But he wasn't and he lived with the Lightwood.
