I hope we get to see more of the parabatai-bond in season 2; how it effects them both for being apart again. Knowing Jace is somewhere but not more than that. Is their bond weaker again, now that Jace isn't himself and etc?

But alas, there were no more hugs this season.

I think also in part from the finale he wanted to go after jace but he knew jace would have wanted him there looking after his siblings

Yeah I do wonder about the bond if they are further away from each other.

I think so too. I think it's better if Alec was there to look after and protect the siblings.

Not just the distance; Jace siding with Valentine and not being on the same wavelength because of that must be some kind of effect too... They did state during their time apart on the show their bond was weakened, and then they patched things up - and now Jace is gone again, can't be easy.
