Maybe it was called silver but it still looked grey to me.

But on a right person it could look very good and on our Jem I bet it would look amazing.

Plus, what kind of logic is that? They'd both be heart broken, they wouldn't just jump into a thing together, because "hey look, Jem's not here."

exactly. some people don't seem to get that. but what's really sad is...to cast Jem aside like that so easily as if he is some horrible person is WRONG. there is nobody more genuine than Jem...Jemuine. see what I did there?
