was talking to my younger cousin about one of my fav movies and I said this was and we just started talking about it and how its now a show and I told him to watch it since he did enjoy the movie

Hi everyone! I'm writing an essay on how The Mortal Instruments novel series has been adapted across film and TV. If anyone has anything they would like to say about how its been adapted, what they like or dislike, any changes that have been welcomed or hated that is different from the original? Any feedback or opinions would really help thank you.

I think the movie and tv show both try to stay true to the books but I can see there are many changes in both versions too. I think for me the show, I like that they changed it that it isn't only Clary's POV and we get to see the other characters we might have seen in the books. While the movie does try and faithful to the books, I just felt like a lot of the side characters were not developed well like for example Magnus who we barely saw during the movie.

I have to agree. Also I do like that are many surprises and twists and turns and not exactly a replica of the books.

Me too. It keeps us guessing what it is going to happen. I think if the show was adapted exactly like the books, it wouldn't make it as exciting.

Welll as for the questions! I always say my favorite character is Magnus, because that's true, but he was hardly in the movie
