I adore Simon and Clary as Best Friends i hated when they went romantic in the books even though it was briefly.

Funny thing was i didnt mind when the show took then there, Kat and Alberto have chemistry I do hope they can get past the awkwardness soon because i adore their friendship and i hate to see a depressed simon, it hurts my heart

Same here.. Honestly, I never care about them when they date in the book plus I felt like there is no dept when they broke up since Simon was in love w/ her for years in the book, but I think that the show did better plus like you said both have chemistry..
