I wasn't too surprised but I guess it was because we didn't see much of Clary reacting to it beforehand

Yeah, I agree.. Even tho that made sense from Kat mention that she start to aware in beginning of season when she sees something about him, but she focus on her mom and stuff, but he always there for her and stuff like that which she start to realize that..

Yeah even tho it made sense since they knew each other in their whole lives.. But I wonder how they will deal since both of them in different world, I mean, she's shadowhunter and he's downworlder..

It looks like it will be hard since they are frown upon in their world. I like that in the episode, he tried to protect her even though it was quite hard for him especially since Maia attacked her during the day.
