There supposed to be a hug in the finale too, you saw the BTS right? I don't know why they cut it off! These two love each other so much

It was probably cut because it wasn't necessary. First, because they weren't saying good-bye, which a hug might've implied (according to Aaron Korsch, Harvey will be visiting and calling Mike frequently); and second, because what we did see--Mike taking a few steps toward the gate, turning back to seek reassurance, Harvey looking Mike in the eye, advising him to watch his back, and then standing tall as if imparting strength--conveyed more of what Mike needed at that moment.

But IDK if a hug would mean all that they didn't wanna tell. These two became brothers and brothers do hug, it's not a goodbye sign necessarily imo. But anyways I still like the scene

I know, and they (Korsch, director, writers, Gabriel, Patrick) probably talked a lot about whether to include the hug in that scene. If 5x16 had been the series finale, I think the hug would've stayed.

What I love about this story is that the audience will see, hopefully, Mike endure and even grow from this experience. Some people have said that 5x16 would've been an appropriate series finale, but I would've hated that because, even though we all know Mike was guilty, we also know that he is, in essence, a good person. He is capable of not only surviving, but overcoming and eventually thriving. That's what I want to see.

Mike's eventual release should be very emotional.

We'll always have the hug in 5x10!
