Since we're on the subject of White Collar, in that same interview with TV Guide that I referred to earlier, Patrick admitted he and Gabriel often talked about wanting to do a crossover with Matt and Tim on White Collar. Both shows were/are known for their walk-and-talks, and they wanted to pass each other on the street, pause and stare at each other for second, then move on. It would've been fun! (In my mind, I picture Harvey ridiculing Neal's fedora, and Peter making a snide comment about Harvey and Mike dressing like lawyers.)

My thoughts on why White Collar was cancelled are just speculation, but the ratings were close to what Suits ratings are now, so there must be more to the story. Creator Jeff Eastin was also showrunner for Graceland, a series that never reached the ratings heights of White Collar but which better fit the network's changing brand, and USA may have wanted him to focus on that.

Willie Garson, who plays Mozzie on White Collar, sometimes makes a Twitter play for being a guest on Suits. Apparently, he knows Patrick, Rick, and Aaron, plus director Mike Smith is a regular on both sets.

More trivia: Gabriel was fired from the original, unaired pilot of Numb3rs because he and David Krumhotlz didn't look like they could be brothers (Gabriel's role eventually went to Rob Morrow), but had he stayed, he would had opportunity to work with Sarah, Rick and Patrick, all of whom guest starred on Numb3rs in different episodes. (I recently watched Patrick's episode--he looks so young--which aired about three to four years before the Suits pilot.)

I'm a little bit of a TV junkie.

The Numb3rs trivia is interesting because it shows what a small world the tv industry is. I was a huge Numb3rs fan and have all the DVDs, and one of the bonus features is clips from that unaired pilot. As much as I love Gabriel, he really wasn't the right fit for that particular role.

Something to watch while we wait for season 7 is Gabriel's first series, The Others, which only aired 13 episodes in 2000. It's available on YouTube if you live in the United States.

The Others is about a group of individuals with various psychic abilities as they encounter evil paranormal forces. I've watched only the first two episodes so far, and I really like the ensemble cast. Gabriel plays a young doctor who has an innate empathy for suffering. (One of the other regulars, John Billingsley, has guest-starred twice on Suits as an accountant who, like Mike, had no credentials.)
