I agree I mean I know that Kantiss is the title character one couldn't argue how much the character of Peeta meant to the fandom. Thanks so much to JH Peeta became very important to the fandom and so a lot of people including myself want more from his POV.

And that is why he is such a great character and not the passive weak lover boy some people reduce him to.

Passive aggressive and weak are definitely 2 things he is not
What gets me is how anyone can call him weak considering everything he had been forced to endure yet somehow still managed to survive. Peeta is incredibly tough and extremely smart just because he didn't go around showing off doesn't make him weak |

He really is. He's also represents goodness in the series. The moral center, if you will.

I was just telling my mother this very thing. I have made her watch both THG and CF and she didn't seem at all that interested until last night when CF was playing again on TV. I explained the entire premise of the Hunger Games. It turns out she missed out on what their true purpose was and and thus was flippant about the movies. She was surprised when I told her the movies were about oppression and that Snow was using the games to punish 90% of the country, something that she understands all too well since as South Africans we gained out freedom just over 20 years ago. Now she is really interested in how the story plays out. Now I just need to convince my sister and I'll consider my job well done, lol. |

It's like what Jen said during promotion for the first movie: Peeta is good and and kind in a world that's unjust and cruel (I'm paraphrasing, but it was something close to those lines).
