Dave, yeah it would be really interesting to see the story behind those side characters, how they came to be how they are and what inspired them.

i wonder if Plutarch was a junior gamemaker in that crowd on the balcony, as Katniss shot the apple out of the pig's mouth in front of Seneca Crane. maybe her act of defiance is what inspired him in some way, or maybe was the final push for him to propel movement from the underground. hmmm.

That's an interesting scenario, wondering if he was completely pro-Capitol at first but came to realize the savageness of it all and started to turn on them little by little until something completely flipped him to the other side, possibly moments like that arrow one.

it would be because for Snow to give Plutarch the "honour" of the Quarrel quell he was probably very high ranked for the shop

i imagine there weren't very many Gamemakers enthused for the job after Snow caused an abrupt end to Seneca's breathing capability, ugh. the book made it sound like he was Head Gamemaker for five years or so, so everyone was comfortable in their jobs before his demise. i think Plutarch stepped up uncontested, because he was motivated by Katniss and the continuing unrest in Districts 7, 8, and 11. i have watched that balcony scene in THG quite a few times, and there are plenty of people up there, that you don't see their faces directly, and several actually look the size of the Plutarch actor from CF, Philip Seymour Hoffman. i like to think Plutarch was right there in THG, when Katniss fired the arrow, and maybe it is even his idea to put up the force field, since he maybe had Beetee in his underground movement all along. they got along very well, tbh.

Since Suzanne is interested in prequels, it would be interesting to get stories about the characters we know but didn't have the chance to know more about

i think THG50 with a young Haymitch would be the best bet for a hugely successful film, well-liked damaged anti-hero character but still lovable, some potential Capitol history with a middle-aged Snow, and that crazy Second Quarter Quell with 48 tributes and a horrific volcano.

i agree, also it would show Haymitch's smarts in getting careers to jump into the force field, so he could be the survivor/victor. no winners, only survivors. i'm keeping the THG50 torch lit, maybe we'll see it someday!
