Your Favorite Television Shows of All-Time, Thread 3

Hey TV Fans!

Now's your chance to post or repost your list of all-time favorite shows!

I'm reposting...

Full House-This was the first show that I was ever really a fan of. I still enjoy it to this day and it makes me so nostalgic every time I watch an episode.

Friends-It started off incredibly and stayed fresh and full of quality until it's very poignant farewell episode. The six actors have incredible chemistry together and are just amazingly funny. They've been apart of my life...it seems like forever, and I continue to enjoy this show in syndication and on DVD.

7th Heaven - Season 1, Season 2-In its heydey, this show tackled complex and intriguing issues, while showcasing an interesting family with integrity and values.

Dawson's Creek - Season 1, Season 2-There's nothing like the early seasons of Kevin Williamson's incredible creation. This show means so much to me and goes so deep that it's hard to describe the tremendous appeal. I'll always treasure it.

Gilmore Girls-This is beautiful, magical television. The first season was perfection and the following seasons shone through as well. It's funny, quirky, romantic, dramatic, and always manages to drop a few "warm and fuzzy" moments here and there. Originally, this show helped me get through a particularly difficult time in my life and I'll never forget it for that.

State of Grace-Unfortunately it was cancelled after only two seasons, but it was better than most long-running shows. It offered some unique, yet very relatable scenes and made you remember what it was like to grow up in the 60's (even if you didn't ). Each episode was a masterpiece (especially in the first season) and I have yet to see another show like it.

Monk-Adrian Monk is my all-time favorite television character (well, maybe along with Lorelai Gilmore). This show is so well-written and often hilarious. Tony Shalhoub and Bitty Schram sparkle. I can't wait for it to return this summer!

Post away!

Hmmm, I got a lot.

7th Heaven- only like the first couple of seasons...it got pretty crappy after the 2nd or 3rd season.

Angel- I stopped watching I think after season 4, but it was awesome in the beginning.

Buffy- The first 3 seasons were the best, I watched only those three.

Full House- I was obsessed back in the day, Uncle Jesse was hot....heh.

Dr. Quinn, Medcine Woman- I loved this show, I used to watch it with my mom every saturday night. Really was an amazing show, I still watch the reruns.

Higher Ground- Only lasted one season, but was amazing none the less.

Freaks and Geeks- Same as above.

Malcolm in the Middle- Stopped watching after season 3, but it was so funny in the beginning...

One Tree Hill- Love this show

The OC- Obsessed....

ER- up until season 8 ish i think.

....theres probably more....

Wow, could not agree more. It started to go down in Season 3, but in Season 4 it reached all kinds of lows.

Friends - My all time favourite. Consistently funny through all the seasons and concluded with one of the best series finales.

The X-Files - Amazing show, creatively brilliant. Maybe went on a bit longer than it should've especially once Mulder left, but the series final brought it back to its best.

Sex and the City - Adored this show. Funny, bold and sexy.

Dawsons Creek - Loved it, although towards the end (season 5 and 6), I got pretty bored but still a favourite, most especially season 3.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - I was obsessed with this show! It was written and acted so well, with a great mix of humour and angst. My affections for this show have wavered considerably since it finished, but the first 3 seasons will always be the finest hours of television I have ever seen.

*Buffy the Vampire Slayer*: Honestly, I believe it is the most well-acted and written show I have ever had the priviledge to watch. The dialogue was sharp and the story arcs were mind bending. Even when it wasn't as good (S4, S6-S7) it was still better than pretty much everything else out there. And there isn't a thing in the world that can touch BtVS S1-S3 and S5.
Angel: This show was always up and down for me. When it was great it was gold but when it was bad it was crap. Yet S1-S2, selected parts of S3-S4 and the amazing S5 have made this show one of my favorites. It doesn't have Buffy status BUT, unlike its mother show, when it closed out this year the series finale left me wanting more.
90210: Brenda/Dylan, Donna/David...Good times! The original crazy teen drama. The ending seasons sucked and, um, who really cared when Donne and David finally got married? Or that Kelly and Dylan were going to make another go of it? But back in the day, it was my MUST-SEE-TV.
Degrassi: Probably the most realistic teen drama I have ever seen. Also, the best acted. Tori Spelling these actors are not...And *that* is a compliment. Its nice to see a show dealing with real issues in a frank manner. They don't sugarcoat things. These kids talk like they're in high school (unlike Dawson's Creek- although I liked that show), act like they're teenagers (unlike One Tree Hill) and have to deal with more than just romantic entanglements.
General Hospital: Because this is a soap it really all depends on the time frame we're talking about. I *loved* the entire time they had the Lucky/Liz storyline (pre-Lucky 2.0) and when that went out the door there was Jason/Liz followed swiftly by Sonny/Carly. Yeah, when they brought back Lucky and THEN Stavros (give me a break!) it was bad. But it was good after that again up until probably six months ago when I found myself wanting to check out of Sonny Hospital.

- Gilmore Girls: I believe that this is one of the most witty shows out there. It's definately a show that more people should watch because it's just so special and magical (Especially the first season...classic)

- Friends: So many great moments that had me laughing. The second season was one of the best as well as the 5th season.....Chandler and Monica!! This was the first television show that I ever really got into and I'm just so happy I have my DVDs!

- Buffy: Loved the first three seasons, season 4 and 5 were pretty good, and don't even get me started on 6 and 7. All I can say is that I was really happy with the series finale because it all ended well.

- Angel: The first season will always be my favorite because of IWRY and Doyle (I still miss him) but I loved the second and third season as well. I didn't really watch the 4th but I know that it was really dark, and the 5th season was amazing.

Freaks and Geeks. A legend. Well written, well acted, realistic, funny.

As If. Sure, Season 4 sucked, and Season 3 was patchy but it's one of the only successful British teen dramas going. Seasons 1 and two are untouchable, compelling with none stereotypical teens.

The Office. I don't care what anyone says, it was the funniest comedy ever. Including Friends. (Sorry).

And Sex and the City, Buffy, and Angel. All classics.

Grosse Point. It was hilarious.

X-Files - The show that I thought stayed good the longest. I loved the first five to six seasons. Seven through nine they can keep, but that doesn't change the fact that I think this was one of the best, most intelligently written shows ever to be on TV. And Mulder and Scully and their partnership helped make it all work.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Loved the first three seasons to pieces. Liked four and five. Can definitely do without six and seven. But overall, the writing, characters, dialogue, and stories were all excellent.

Dark Shadows - I'm nowhere near through this show and I know there's stuff coming up on my DVDs that I won't care for. But the first couple years worth of episodes are so addicting. Love, love, love Barnabas.

Smallville - I've loved all three seasons, and I can't wait for the fourth. There's some things I don't care for (the Clark/Lana relationship, the formalic feeling of some episodes), but the Clark/Lex friendship automatically puts it on my list. Hell, the character of Lex Luthor period puts it on my list.

Honorable mentions:

Dark Angel - Loved the first season. It was different. I loved Max, the storyline, and the setting. I was so disappointed when it was cancelled, despite it having a mediocre second season. I think the show could've and would've bounced back.

Alias - I've only seen the first two seasons, which I love. I'm waiting for the season three box set. I've kept up with what's been going on though, and I have a feeling I'm not going to like it as much as the other two...

I'm an old woman in a 21 year old's body...

My favorite show of ALL TIME is the original Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock Presents later the Alfred Hitchcock Hour

Pretty much TZ is # 1 cuz it's on and I have just about every single episode (there are 156 total, I don't have quite that yet) on tape from the marathons cuz they play them all the time, they never play Alfred Hitchcock, and I can't find the DVD's anywhere I'm not sure if they make them. I love this sort of weird sci-fi thing, like suspense and stuff. I'm obsessed w/ TZ, I know every ep name pretty much, and partly who was in them if they are famous enough to be in things I know like other TV shows or movies etc.

I love All in the Family

This show is great, and it's so funny cuz 1/2 the things Archie Bunker got away w/ saying on this show that paved the way for all the rest, can't be said on them. He uses many racial terms, and things like that. It's so great...(the show I mean, not the racism)...it's ironic too cuz Carroll O'Connor was one of the most liberal men.

On to current TV....I love Joan of Arcadia

This show is so great, the storylines are great, and the acting is great, it's just great, and I can't wait til it comes back in the fall.

I also liked the cancelled Boston Public, but it was going down hill for a while, so I guess it's right to be ended. I watch Seinfeld, and the Simpons, love both of them. I love That 70's Show, but I don't make it a point to catch it every week, I usually catch it on repeats late at night.

I'm really into idiotic reality shows like Wildboyz and Viva La Bam. I heart them...(MTV should bring Jackass back)
The guys in these shows are so stupid it's funny. Steve-O's website. I'm also really into skateboarding and the X-games, I can't wait for them to come on in August. (Not a big fan of Winter X.)

I watch a lot of TV, but these are my fave shows. TZ above all though, followed closely by Alfred Hitchcock.
