What are your favorite television shows?

I love...

Full House-This was the first show that I was ever really a fan of. I still enjoy it to this day and it makes me so nostalgic every time I watch an episode.

Friends-It started off wonderfully and stayed fresh and full of quality until it's very poignant farewell episode. The six actors have incredible chemistry together and are just amazingly funny. They've been apart of my life...it seems like forever, and I continue to enjoy this show in syndication and on DVD.

Gilmore Girls-This is beautiful, magical television. The first season was perfection and the following seasons shown through as well. It's funny, quirky, romantic, dramatic, and always manages to drop a few "warm and fuzzy" moments here and there. This show helped me get through a particularly difficult time in my life and I'll never forget it for that.

State of Grace-Unfortunately it was cancelled after only two seasons, but it was better than most long-running shows. It offered some unique, yet very relatable scenes and made you feel like you grew up in the 60's as well (even if you didn't). Each episode was a masterpiece (especially in the first season) and I have yet to see another show like it.

Monk-Adrian Monk is my all-time favorite television character (well, maybe along with Lorelai Gilmore). This show is so well-written and often hilarious. Tony Shalhoub and Bitty Schram sparkle. I can't wait for it to return this summer!

7th Heaven Season 1, Season 2-After the second season, this show was never the same, but during it's early years, it was a wonderfully original show. The issues that it dealt with were well received and the characters were endearing. This was my favorite show for a while when I was in Junior High and whenever I watch an episode now, it reminds me of a simpler time.

Dawson's Creek Season 1, Season 2-This creative show created by Kevin Williamson became an obsession of mine for a long time. The dialogue was intriguing and the characters and emotions that they went through were so real--not to mention that the music was incredible. How could I help but fall in love with it? Although this show tanked after Season 2 (when Kevin Williamson left), I will always treasure those first two amazing seasons.

The Cosby Show
The show never failed to make me laugh. It had its ups and downs especially during the later seasons, but I still enjoyed it.

90210
Probably the first high school show that I was addicted to. I could identify with Brenda because I always felt like an outsider trying to fit in.

Freaks and Geeks
What can I say? It was one of the most realistic portrayals of high school life shown on a TV series. The show made me laugh and cry.

Full House
Loved this show as a kid and still do. I wanted to be just like DJ. lol

I love a lot of shows, but this two are my favourite:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer This is my favourite show and it helped me when I was depressed. I watched almost all the seasons in 1 year.

Gilmore Girls I loved all the seasons!!! It's a great show and I feel good everytime I watch it.

I love TV so much. It's very hard to narrow it down ... so here are just a few.

24 is my favourite show. I absolutely adore Kiefer Sutherland and the storylines are always very exciting.

Buffy/Angel I put these two together because they're from the same Joss world. I love seasons 1-3 of Buffy and Angel has been pretty consistent (very shaky in 4). I am very sad I won't see them anymore!

Friends Whenever I want to watch something nice and happy... I'll put friends on.

My So Called Life I used to look forward to watching this show SO much. Plus I had the biggest crush on Jared Leto.

Six Feet Under I'm a big fan of black comedy dramas.

Friends - Watched it since I was 9, I feel like I've grown up with this show. It was constantly funny through all seasons and bowed out with one of the best season finales. It was a show that I could just put on when ever I was feeling low and it'd just make me laugh. My all time favourite.

Sex and the City - Adored this show. Funny, bold and sexy.

X-Files - A fabulous show, creatively brilliant, less so after Mulder's departure but the series finale brought it back to it's best. I miss this show.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - I was obsessed with this show! It was written and acted so well, with a great mix of humour and angst. My affections for this show have wavered considerably since it finished, but the first 3 seasons will always be the finest hours of television I have ever seen.

Dawsons Creek - Loved it, although towards the end (season 5 and 6), I got pretty bored but still a favourite, most especially season 3.

I love TV so much!!!
It provides me with an enticing escape from my life. It fills my life with people every bit as real as those which originated in nature whom I can love with just as much gusto. And it gives me something to live for. Which is NOT a small thing.
I have, in my lifetime, loved a great many shows but I will limit my response here to the ones in the fairly recent past, or the ones which have endured the test of time. Lets begin:

Buffy I loved this show on so many levels. I was drawn to it, initially, because I didn't want to be drawn to it. And by the end of it, I had fallen in love with every single character, and every word Joss and co. had written for them to say. I loved how the plot lines were so creatively woven. Intermixing hysterical comedy with heartwrenching drama. And never ever dumbing anything down for you. I felt, at times, that I was watching a puzzle. And that was very very intreguing.

Gilmore Girls This is an extremely recent obsession but I think it has now replaced Dawson's Creek as my favorite real life type drama. The story about a mother and daughter who are best friends is simply GENIUS in my opinion. That story alone dwarfs any of the romantic relationships on the show. I have fallen in love with Lorelai and have decided she is my new goddess. I love every little quirk, every scene where she MUST have coffee, every adorablely mismatched outfit, every time she comforts Rory in a moment of heartache and every moment Rory comforts her when her love life is on the fritz. And I especially love her adorable banter with Luke. How they just keep ending up in one another's lives.
I'm splitting my viewing time between the first season DVDs (my first viewing of that season) and the new eps this season. It's making me love Luke/Lorelai VERY much right now.

Dawson's Creek There were 2 facets to this show that I loved. The first was the angsty friendship with Dawson in season 1 that drew me in to begin with. The unrequited crush. The longing, unfulfilled stares. All that was so very romantic.
The second, though, was an unexpectedly thickly layered friendship with the "enemy" that turned into one of the most well-developed and appealing love stories I have ever 'shipped.
And Joey I had to love. She had her irritating moments but I just couldn't hate her, on the whole.

The X-Files My rebellious activity of choice as a teenager. I watched it in defiance of my mother. I loved it for the sci fi element. The first season was a GEM that I will treasure all my life. But, even though it had a lot of unevenness over the years and it tested the patience of countless fans, how could I NOT stick around to see the resolution of this soul mate love story nearly a decade in the making. When it ended, I had been watching she show for nearly half my life.
The thing I always loved about it was that the first 5 minutes always had the scarey set up. Sometimes making me want to crawl under my covers and hide. But I knew that if I stuck around until after the commercial, Mulder and Scully would show up and everything would be alright. They would solve the creepy mystery or get the bad guy and they always had each other's back.
Now THAT is real love.

In no order....

The X-Files
- The first show I ever became addicted to. I think I was in seventh grade. I started watching it just as they ran the first episodes on FX, so I got caught up really quickly. The X-Files started my love of science fiction and fantasy, and Mulder was my first television man. I loved Mulder and Scully, and their relationship, as well as the stories that Carter came up with. A classic show, despite the fact that it should've ended when Duchovny wanted out.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- Second show I became a fan of, and like ~Holly~ said, the first three seasons were some of the best hours of TV ever. The characters rocked, the storylines were great. The show balanced so many emotions. It's also the first show and remains one of the only shows that made me cry. I didn't like the last two seasons much at all, though.

Smallville
- I've never liked Superman, but I adore this show. The highlight of it for me is Lex Luthor, and the idea of a prequel that leads to not just Clark Kent becoming Superman, but Lex Luthor becoming the villian of the story. And the fact that they started out friends just makes it so much more intriguing.

Dark Shadows
- I just started watching this on DVD, so I haven't seen it all, but what I have seen puts it on my list. I love the gothic atmosphere, and I'm just in love with the character of Barnabas Collins. He's instantly become one of my favorite television characters.

Dark Angel
- I thought it had one of the most interesting plots, the futuristic setting, the idea of genetically engineered children being made into soldiers... it went downhill with season two (and Max went from cool, to Miss Mopey), and really got away from what made it so good, IMO. But it seemed to be picking up a little at the end of the season, and naturally, it got cancelled.

Alias
- I bought the DVD box sets and watched them in a matter of a month. I really wished I'd watched this from the beginning. I watched some of season three, but all of the breaks caused me to miss a few, so I've decided to wait and get the third season on DVD in the fall. The cast is great, and the plots keep me on the edge of my seat.

BtVS - What can I say that hasn't been said already? Amazing show.

The O.C. - The thing you have to get about this show to love it is that it doesn't take itself seriously. And, come on. Adam Brody. Nuff said.

Joan of Arcadia - I saw the commercials for this and thought it looked like the stupidest show in the world. Then I watched it and...kinda liked it. And I watched it again, and liked it even more.

Arrested Development - Freaking. Hilarious. I generally don't watch sitcoms because most of them are really stupid. But everything about AD is so original and out-there compared to everything else on tv.

The Daily Show - I LOVE Jon Stewart. He's too funny and the show is spot-on about pretty much everything in the news.

Friends I have watched from the beginning. When I am feeling down, just hanging out at home or cleaning I put a Friends DVD on.

Full House My favorite show as a kid. I still catch reruns and remember lines. I loved Uncle Jesse. John Stamos was my first celebrity crush.

Freaks and Geeks It is soo funny and watching the DvD makes me remember how much I love it.

Some of my other all time favorites are Alias, Seinfeld, Roswell (seasons 1 &2), and Will & Grace (seasons 1-4)

Family Matters - Loved this show...loved Carl...Steve & Laura were so cute in the end. I practically grew with this show. It was like Full House except with less cheese.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Didn't really get the hype of the show until I tuned one day in Season 5 (best season even, IMO). I saw reruns of Seasons 1-4 and liked it as well. I had the biggest crush on Spike when I watched this show! It went downhill Season 6 and after but I can never forget it's glory days.

Angel - Such a great show with so much potential. Seasons 1-3 will always be the best seasons. The writers really ruined it Season 4 when they butchered Cordelia's character and put her in a coma in the end.

Dark Angel - Dragged a big sometimes but the Season 2 finale was awesome! So much could have been done from there! I was SO upset when they cancelled it. I had a big crush on Jensen Ackles back in the day.

The Eleventh Hour - not really into Canadian shows but this is one worth watching. It's pretty realistic and the news cases aren't always solved. The journalists aren't perfect...they don't always accomplish the things they set out to accomplish. They also deal with a lot real-life issues such as the execution of a Canadian for committing a crime in the U.S., child offenders, etc.

Las Vegas - I like this show despite the lack of continuity...Josh Duhamel and James Caan make up for it.

Queer As Folk - The show has really come into itself this season... with Brian growing up and Justin dealing with his issues. It's grown up a lot; I don't think it's ever been as good.

That 70's Show - It's just plain funny.

Arrested Development- Hands down the funniest show on TV and I can't believe more people aren't watching it.

Law and Order: SVU - My new obsession... I started watching cause Chris Meloni is hot, but it really is a good show.

OZ - I don't really know why I love it so much... it's intense and gritty but the characters are intriguing. They aren’t perfect... so far from perfect and I kind of like that.
