The West Wing

We've officially lost our board, but I hope that the few of us that are still here can discuss the show and appreciate our favorite characters/ships.

Well, there weren't enough of us to support the board, so that's why it was closed. It had been dead for a long time. I just hope that those of us that are left can continue the discussion

Thanks for the welcome!

Just bumping the thread up. I got hooked on this show this summer when my mom bought seasons 1 & 2 on DVD and when I watched all of the episodes. My mom had also taped the last season so I was able to watch it too. It's kinda sad that Rob Lowe and Aaron Sorkin left the show. This season was not all bad, as I liked the first and the last four episodes of the season, the Supremes and the budget storyline but I think that for the better part of the season, the show lacked the wit and the humor that I saw during seasons 1 & 2. I had already caught a few episodes live before getting addicted to this show: I saw the 9/11 special episode and I barely caught the last bit of the fourth season finale when Zoey got kidnapped. I love every character on the West Wing but I have my favourites as you can tell from my avatar: Josh and Donna. I LOVE their banters and I missed them during this season, who seemed more dark and moody than the first two. It would be fun if Josh and Donna hooked up but that would be unprofessional, considering that Josh is Donna's boss. I would also like them to get together only if it's done in the proper fun way, and not in the dramatic ER-esque circumstances that John Wells has set up during this season finale.

So, finally, my point is: are there any West Wing fans left out there who'd like to discuss the show with me?

I love this show, especially the first few seasons. Personally after Rob Lowe left the show started to go down hill, it just isnt the same anymore. I feel that for any show anytime one of the origional cast members leave the show is not the same again.

I love catching the reruns on Bravo all the time, especially when they have their marathons.

I have to say one of my favorite episodes has to be the season premiere of what i think was the second season, when they find out who has been shot and everything.

Seasons 1-2 were incredible. I loved the writing and the acting was superb. TWW was off in season 3 and I think now they're starting to get back on track. The season finale was especially rivoting.

The canadian version of Bravo sucks: we don't even get re-runs of the West Wing here. I have to wait until seasons 3 & 4 come out on DVD but they haven't even set a date for that yet. If you follow the logic though, considering that season 1 came out in November, season 2 in May, my guess is that season 3 will come out in November.

'West Wing' Might End Soon, Actor Says

Wed Jul 28,10:30 PM ET

BOSTON - Apparently term limits apply to "The West Wing."

Richard Schiff, who plays White House communications director Toby Ziegler on the NBC political drama, says he doesn't expect the show to last much longer.

"I honestly don't think it's the last year, but maybe the year after that," he said Wednesday night before a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert sponsored by the Creative Coalition, of which he is a member.

"The plans are that it's going to go a full term, eight years. Thank God, constitutionally we can't go more than that," said Schiff, who was nominated for a best supporting actor Emmy in 2002.

And if that's when the show does end, then "that'd be fine by me," he said. "I used to do a lot of movies. I was used to moving around a lot and I'm anxious to do that again."

Presidents can serve two four-year terms — a total of eight years.

I wouldn't be totally against that idea: it's better that they go out while they're still among what's best on TV even though Sarkin and Lowe's departures were still a significant blow to the show's writing. As long as they come up with the perfect way for all the lovable characters to go out with a bang (and I don't mean something exploding here M. Wells), it will fine by me as long as we have the DVDs to turn to afterwards.

I can't believe we lost our board. Sigh.

I don't know if I'm looking forward to the new season. John Wells ruins all my shows.

Thanks for bumping up the thread Without the "track topic" feature, I often forget about threads on boards I don't visit very often

I didn't really watch last season, so I was hoping to catch it in reruns. But like last summer, NBC isn't running them

I love Josh and Donna's banter, but I would hate for them to get involved in a romantic relationship. Unfortunately, from what I've seen from the finale, it looks like they are headed in that direction. Though, the guy Donna hooked up with is pretty yummy

I miss Sorkin's writing like crazy, but I don't really miss Rob Lowe at all. I'm a huge fan of Joshua Molina and I think he's made a great addition to the cast.

I'm so excited about Janel Moloney's Emmy nomination and I hope she wins!

I am hoping for a J&D match made in heaven Sorry too cheesy?

I think that these two belong together and deserve to be together. But I do agree that it should never ever come into the office in a major way. So maybe we would see a coupling between these two arranged for the end of the show run...

And I also miss AS and RL. I didn't think I'd miss RL, but I do. I have watched S1 and S2 RL plotlines and as slight as they maybe, I found a spark in his character that I never saw before. I found myself liking the character as the eppies went on. It's weird. I never liked him when I started, but now am finding him endearing in the dvd logged episodes. He added much and I miss his and Toby's wonderful banter and friendship.

I really hope that Toby either gets his woman (Andy obviously) or if that doesn't go anywhere, then he can find romance with CJ...hehe. I've always thought those two would be a match for each other.

I really am not liking JM's character. he's grating on me. I love JM, just am not liking how cocky and irritable he can be.

"Game on!"

I'm horrible with episode names, but I'm watching the one with the debate and when Sam gives Will his name as the Dem candidate if Horton Wilde wins the election.

I absolutely love this one! I love the end when Mrs. B cuts his tie and then they take Josh's for the debate. It got me so energized -- just fabulous!
