Television - Weeds: New show on Showtime!

What shows are people looking forward to this season?

Has anyone heard of "Weeds" coming out on showtime? I work with them and just watched the pilot last week.

If you haven't found out about it, it's got the drama of Desperate Housewives just edgier like the Sopranos and way funnier. Basically, Mary Louise Parker is on the PTA of her sons' school and deals pot in the neighborhood since her husband died. The rest of the cast is pretty solid including Kevin Nealon from SNL who's awesome on the show. He's clueless city councilmember who happens to be one of MLP's clients.

I guess the description doesn't really show how all that can be funny but there's a trailer on the show's site (http://www.sho.com/site/weeds/home.do).

Weeds' looks at typical family life in suburban Agrestic, California, where recently widowed Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) plays referee to a circle of dysfunctional suburbanites who assemble at weekend soccer matches, PTA meetings and other domestic rituals. Left with more family debt than she expected, Nancy finds it hard making ends meet while raising her two sons, so she starts selling pot. Agrestic's quirky and confused residents include Nancy’s friend Celia Hodes (Elizabeth Perkins), the uptight, superficial PTA president and fellow super mom, and befuddled city councilman Doug Wilson (Kevin Nealon), one of Nancy's regular clients.
In the family-friendly town of Agrestic, California, recently-widowed Nancy Botwin is finding it hard to make ends meet until she starts her own door-to-door pot dealing business. Fortunately for her, there is a high demand (pun intended) for her product in this neighborhood of dysfunctional suburbanites.

I have a free Showtime preview and I got to catch the premiere of this and it was hilarious. Now I either have to convince my dad to order the channel or I might just have to crash at my friend's for a half-hour to catch it.

I LOVE the show. I love Mary-Louise. She's awesome.

I don't hate Showtime, that much anymore. Yeah, I do. I want "Dead Like Me" back!

Anyhoo, "Weeds" great stuff. I mean, the show of course.

All I have to say...is that this show is awesome! I loved the pilot! Just had me constantly laughing! I can't wait for the next ep!

I finally get home tomorrow where I have it on TiVo so I can see it. MLP has been my fave actress for forever, and I'm going to be so excited to see her every single week! The show is filmed in my brother's town (where I am right now) and it's weird seeing "Agrestic" everywhere. Today I got coffee at the "It's a Grind" where parts of the pilot (?) were filmed. weiiird.

I really like this show...And Kevin Nealon I am normally not a fan of but he does a good job on this show. Mary Louise Parker and Elizabeth Perkins are always fabulous.

I just added Showtime to my cable line up and watched all of Season 1 on On Demand. I love the show!! MLP is fantastic. The show is hilarious.

When does Season 2 start?
