VANISHED PREMIERE DATE
Fox Unveils Fall Schedule
By Ben Grossman -- Broadcasting & Cable, 6/21/2006 2:13:00 PM
Fox will kick off its fall season Monday, Aug. 21, with the season premiere of sophomore drama Prison Break followed by the series debut of rookie drama Vanished.

The network's latest primetime premiere date before the Major League Baseball playoffs begin in October will be Sunday, Sept. 10, when it rolls out the season premieres of returning comedies The Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy and The War At Home.

Trading Spaces: Meet Your New Mommy

will bow on Friday, Oct. 6 at 9 pm, in a slot that until then will be home to the results show for talent series Duets.

The OC will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 9, taking the place of the weekly performance show of Duets.

Fox’s new entrant into the late-night world, Talk Show With Spike Feresten, will debut at midnight on Saturday night, Sept.16 (technically Sunday morning, Sept.17).

With the season premiere of Vanished now set for Aug. 21, of interest will be when NBC decides to roll out its new offering Kidnapped. Both shows are heavily serialized dramas that revolve around the disappearance of a character. NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly has said previously that he is considering rolling out some shows in the late summer, especially with the NFL as a promotional launching pad.

The following is the full Fox fall schedule:

Monday, August 21

8:00-9:00 PM PRISON BREAK (Season Premiere)

9:00-10:00 PM VANISHED (Series Premiere)

Fox Picks Up Vanished for the Fall Season

Fox has picked up Vanished, an hourlong missing-woman mystery series, reports Variety.

The show revolves around a senator's wife who goes missing as part of a larger conspiracy. Inspired by the country's ongoing fascination with missing women, the story behind Vanished will unfold throughout the season, as told through the eyes of law enforcement, family members and the media.

The series stars John Allen Nelson, John Patrick Amedori, Ming-Na, Chris Egan, Robert Hoffman, Margarita Levieva, Joanne Kelly, Gale Harold and Rebecca Gayheart.

And there we were discussing when exactly we should open such a thread.
Thanks for opening this! I'm really looking forward to this show. The trailers I've seen looked very promising, so I'm sure it will be a good show.

Thanks for opening the thread! Like Kate said we were so busy discussing when to open that we actually didn't open it

I must admit I thought I was gonna watch it only because Gale's in but after seeing some previews it looks much better than I thought. I definitely see potential here

For anyone interested here is the show's 3 minutes long preview.

Thanks for the preview - i am a bit gutted that since i live in the UK, i wont be able to watch it, hopefully i can read the episode guides on the net and so on and hopefully we get this in the UK

Also ppl might say this is like Without A Trace - but i find it different coz all throughtout the series they are just concertrating on this one case about the missing wife - which is intriguing.

Oh I have good news for you - it was picked up by Five if I remember well.

Here is the article

Actually I've heard more comparisons with 24 than Without a Trace.

Miller and Morales Get Vanished
Source: Fox June 19, 2006

Penelope Ann Miller (Carlito's Way) and Esai Morales (NYPD Blue) are joining the new Fox drama Vanished. The series will air Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) this fall.

Miller joins the series as Jessica, the ex-wife of prominent Georgia Senator Jeffrey Collins (John Allen Nelson), whose current wife has inexplicably disappeared. Morales plays Kyle Tyner, supervisor of the high-stakes FBI investigation team of Graham Kelton (Gale Harold) and Agent Len Mei (Ming-Na).

At the center of the show's mystifying story is Sara Collins (Joanne Kelly), the beautiful young wife of Senator Collins, who has gone missing. As the FBI tracks this high-profile case, Agents Kelton and Mei uncover enigmatic clues that suggest Sara's disappearance may be part of a vast, sinister conspiracy. Meanwhile, ambitious reporter Judy Nash (Rebecca Gayheart) attempts to capture every twist and turn of the biggest story in her career.

Vanished, produced by 20th Century Fox Television, was created by Josh Berman (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation). Mimi Leder (The Peacemaker, Deep Impact) directed the pilot. Berman, Leder and Paul Redford (The Unit, The West Wing) serve as executive producers.
