I always get kind of nervous about watching new shows because I'm worried that I'll fall in love with them, they won't find an audience and be axed, and then I'll be sad.

I'll just have to wait and see.

In trouble

Fox announced yesterday that TRU CALLING will not premiere on November 4 as previously announced.

Not announced, however, was the decision to reduce the episode order from 13 to six, despite Fox execs reportedly liking the new direction the show was headed.

According to Variety insiders, the decision is economically-based: Fox has had much better success with new reality shows, which are cheaper to produce, and they don't want to spend much money on TRU. Insiders also believe that some execs believe that TRU's appeal is too narrow and it will never be able to break out.

TRU CALLING could still receive a full 13-episode order if Fox decides to move it to Friday nights.

I feel the same way. It's always the shows I like that get axed. or don't get high raitings.

as long as Lost does good I'm happy.

The only shows this year right now. That I really worried about is Jack & Bobby and The Mountain. I feel that they will do very well, however the WB can be very stupid at making some decisions.

It better not. But it is against CSI. Which is Number 1 of all TV shows in terms of ratings. And FOX is the dinkiest station when it comes to funding quality programming. I'm not saying good shows don't happen on FOX. But, more and more, that seems to be as much the result of accident or divine intervention or whatever than the actual intention of whomever's in charge over there... Isn't that Rupert Murdoch, at the end of the day?

Hey, can we take bets on what'll get cancelled first?

it's hard for me to guess what's going to get cancelled first. I'll say the Jason Alexander show. I think people still associate him with Seinfeld.

I'm hoping the first show to get the ax will be Father of the Pride. Scrubs deserves a better lead in than that show.

That Rob Lowe can only master two facial expressions - the dumbfounded and the completely dumbfounded look and that the only counterpart he ever worked up a chemistry with is on CSI:Miami now (with an oscar winning role in comparison to anything we'll ever see on dr. vegas) doesn't really help either, I guess.

As for The Mountain - I have a feeling this will stay with us -- for no good reason as... lots of WB-watching teenagers who don't care for Oliver Hudson's blank or completely blank facial expression as long as there's a chance he'll take his shirt off.

Now how did I become so hateful? Any guesses? Sorry.
