The retirement party and discovering that the news anchor lady was having an affair with that cop, seemed trivial. Don't know if I can continue to watch this, it doesn't try to waterdown certain aspects, maybe that is why the trivial stuff seemed obsolete. Loving Ben. I guess I will have to just wait and see if I can handle another gritty hour.

if this show is one thing, it's def not gritty... and it's not all that depressing either... another thing i keep hearing it is... now the shield and the wire, both excellent, daring cop shows that took it there were both gritty and depressing... southland just seems like it wants to resemble such shows, but it doesn't... it's still interesting enough to watch though, especially for the cast, but idk... it feels like it lacks certain aspects that would make it great, but it's only the second ep so... one thing that i hated was how hard they tried to make cops seem as if they are good people... not that they aren't good people, but i hardly doubt in rl adams would have had the time to give such effort to one case... granted it is a show, but that whole sl just seemed like a big cliche to me... same thing with bryant, but yea, i get it's a show, blahblah... i'm still liking ben's and john's partnership though... especially how it went from ben making a mistake to john being so wrapped up in that mistake, he nearly hit a kid... made his whole "being aware" theory go out the window for a moment... overall it wasn't a bad ep... plus it had another great coda!

I watched the two episodes because I am a Tom fan. The show seemed kind of disjointed to me, but maybe that's just me. So far it's not holding my interest, which is too bad.

I've never watched the Shield or the Wire, I guess I am a novice to these shows.

True about the detective having time to help the girl with her baby.

I'm excited the show is coming back. But I hope it's worth it. I heard they "retooled" the second season, I just hope it's for the better and not too significant. I loved what we got so far, even if it started off a bit shaky.

I'm rooting for Mad Men or Modern Family to get a board. After that, we'll see. Depends on how long TNT will keep the show. I don't campaign for TV shows that get cancelled. I find NO reason for them to get a board, personally. That's just me.

New episodes are showing now aren't they? I watched this last Weds and was amazed and pulled back in. I guess I am just watching what you all watched last year.
